There has been a change at guard. Hail the new rebel leader, Samut, the Relentless!!! This warrior is never questioned without a sword in the mouth to those who do. She leads an army that makes the opponent beg for mercy. The ability to grant haste to her fellow fighters only makes her that much more dangerous! No more Mr. nice guy because this chick has taken his place. Now who is ready for a fight!

ARTIFACTS:

This deck aims for the best mana rocks available with a few goals in mind:
- Affordability
- effectiveness
- colorfixing

Those that made the list:

  • Mox Amber: Working with legends to get to the finish line.

  • Sol Ring: Effective ramp, useful at all times.

  • Chromatic Lantern: One of the best cards printed Return of Ravinca. Allows for manafixing at a better frequency.

  • Lightning Greaves: An EDH staple for nearly any deck.

  • Sword of the Animist: This deck is about attacking and ramping, at which this card brings both to the table. Samut, can't get enough it!

  • Champion's Helm: Protecting the investments and works real well with Shalia, Voice of Plenty. A great inclusion into the 99.

  • Sword of Feast and Famine: Because you can never have enough mana. Untapping all your lands after combat is always a fulfilling feeling!!!

CREATURES:

  • Hero of Bladehold: 7 damage with three body on the first attack and only gets worst with time. A classic beater for any aggressive or midrange deck.

  • Linvala, Keeper of Silence: Silencing all those annoying activated ablilities of the opponent(s). One of my favorite angels of all time. :)

  • Archangel of Thune: Lifegain that has a bonus for everyone! And you get a free car and you get a free car and you get a free!!!

  • Sun Titan: Recursion on 6/6 body with Vigilance is just stupid good! Even with 6 total printings, it still holds a reasonable price for what he offers you.

  • Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite: One of the only Praetors I am willing to have in and worthy of a slot in the 99. Her mercy is always known.

  • Avacyn, Angel of Hope: Everything that could be said about this women of women has been said. She speechs with actions more than her words.

  • Iroas, God of Victory: His nickname says it all. Victory on the battlefield is assured when he shows up!

  • Sigarda, Host of Herons: I say "NO" to eldrazi, "NO" to sac effects and spot removal. Ah, its good to be awesome!

  • Dragonlord Dromoka: More 'NOs' going around than the opponent really wishes to deal with. Lifelink on a 5/7 body just makes it that much better.

  • Aurelia, the Warleader: Who doesn't like extra combats? Really, this woman can end games by simply showing up with no answers. Wondermans' bff!

  • Gisela, Blade of Goldnight: Double damage for everyone else and half that for me! Spreading the love ;)

ENCHANTMENTS:

  • Sylvan Library: One of the top 3 top deck manipulators in the game and a EDH, Legacy and Vintage staple. A worthy and well-founded addition.

  • Aura Shards: One of the best removal enchantments of all time. The fear is evident and noteworthy.

  • Mirari's Wake: A Selesnya EDH staple that has value almost any point in the game. Doubling your land mana output is always a plus! Rare to duplicate and hard to replace. It is why it is one of my favorite cards.

  • Assemble Legion: Accumulating advantage that gets better and better each of your upkeeps.

  • Privileged Position: Protecting the investment when it becomes necessary to do so.

  • Growing Rites of Itlimoc  : fetches you a creature then flips into Gaea's Cradle with 4 creatures on board. This, I can work with!

INSTANTS & SORCERIES:

PLANESWALKERS:

  • Elspeth, Sun's Champion (4):
+1: three 1/1 soldiers. Do you feel lucky, punk? Do ya?
-3: You fool beasts of great power, die!
-7: EMBLEM = +2/+2 and flying for the whole team, forever. I'll take it!
  • Selfless Spirit: Being one of the stronger cards in the Shadows over Innistrad set, I've loved this cards since it was first spoiled. It's inexpensive in cost, reusable with Sun Titan and flies, which is big!

  • Thalia, Heretic Cathar: The tax collector's wife herself, lol! She's her to set her people free from those who come to rule without consequence. Test her and she will humble you!

  • Ghostly Prison : Taxes must be payed when you enter the arena!

So, this my breakdown of the deck and why most of the cards earned a slot into the 99. Addressing some weakness, let me name a few:

  • focus Mill
  • Infect
  • Bounce effects
  • group hug
  • Pillow fort
