DISCLAIMER

This is not a Nykthos deck. This is a deck that happens to play Nykthos. This is also not a netdeck. I am the sole creator of this deck.

Now that the legal issues are out of the way, let's move on to the deck analysis.

THE RAMP

alt textElvish Mystic ramps for one mana. It would be stupid not to include him.

Sylvan Caryatid and Kiora's Follower ramp at 2 mana and are better at fixing. Plus Kiora's Follower can untap a Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx or give psuedo vigilance to a creature.

Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx can get crazy amounts of mana. I often have a ton of devotion and with Kiora's Follower I can get huge monstrous amounts for Polukranos, World Eater or giant Mistcutter Hydras.

THE SUPPORT

alt textCourser of Kruphix helps me hit my land drops and can clear my topdecks of land late game, plus give me some much needed lifegain.

Dictate of Kruphix can keep my hand full. That's about it.

Kruphix, God of Horizons can generate tons of mana over a few turns for a massive monstrous Polukranos or a giant Mistcutter. If I somehow have a full hand it helps with that too.

THE THREATS

alt text

Polukranos, World Eater is a threat that gets powered out early and still has power late game. Probably the most important card in this deck against aggro and just as a 4 mana 5/5 can force a removal spell or Supreme Verdict.

Nylea, God of the Hunt can give other dudes trample, nuff said.

Arbor Colossus is a huge creature that closes down games and kills Desecration Demon and Nightveil Specter .

Prime Speaker Zegana refills my hand and is a fatty.

Hydra Broodmaster is just nuts. He can create an army all on his own and with Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx can get a whole lot of hydra tokens.

THE REMOVAL

alt textCyclonic Rift is basically a double Time Walk if you end step Cyclonic Rift. Then you get a turn, they spend a turn playing their stuff again, and then you get another turn. Can also in a pinch return a Planeswalker threatening ultimate or a creature threatening lethal.

THE WALKERS

alt textKiora, the Crashing Wave is very powerful. I don't know how else to describe her. Her bubble she makes is very good at protecting you and her, her -1 will hardly ever be used just because her ultimate is so easy to get too and you don't want to risk getting her ultimate off later. And her ultimate is just game over. A 9/9 kraken every turn is incredibly powerful. If she's going to die she at least will Explore once, which isn't too bad. At Game Day she shut off a Boros Reckoner which would have otherwise killed me.

I've done some crazy things with this deck and it's one of the most fun decks I've ever played. I think this deck could make it in standard.

Suggestions, +1s, and any general feedback is appreciated.

Please don't post deck lists in the comments that aren't directly related to this deck. So don't post your simic aggro or counters or whatever deck.
