For commander 2018, only a few of the new generals seemed to excite the imagination. Gyrus, walker of corpses, is not one of them. This is the best deck a few friends could brew using Gyrus, a general that only rewards you for spending a ton of mana and when you attack. Welcome to Jund Value Town (toolbox/hatebear/etbs/tokens).

This deck likes to tutor up creatures with enter the battlefield abilities and put them onto the field (Ingot Chewer,Fleshbag Marauder). The pilot then sacrifices them to either tutor more creatures, draw, mill or whatever (Evolutionary Leap,Greater Good,Altar of Dementia) to generate value. Then Gyrus attacks, re-animating them to get another enter the battlefield trigger that then could be sacrificed in the middle of combat to generate the Maximum amount of value.

All creatures psudore-animated by Gyrus are tokens. This can be taken advantage of by putting in the best of magic's token synergies. Doubling Season, Parallel Lives, and Primal Vigor are killer for all of the toolbox creatures. They are especially good when the pilot deploys the win, conditions.

This deck wins by either smashing face with Gyrus himself or by reanimating one of the following creatures; Hornet Queen, Siege-Gang Commander, or Deranged Hermit. These are really powerful when gyrus makes a token copy of them. If a doubling season effect is in place, a second token is created. Both of these tokens will make their 3-4 token friends... twice. Hornet Queen can then make 32 flying deathtouch bees. This deck needs help, there is still things that this deck could do better and is open to suggestions.
