- 2x Bonfire of the Damned
- 1x Devastation Tide
- 4x Faithless Looting
- 3x Flames of the Firebrand
- 1x Increasing Confusion
- 4x Mind Sculpt
- 4x Pillar of Flame
This is a deck I've been working on where the goal is to essentially draw as many cards as possible while milling your opponent at the same time with the Jace's Erasure and a few other well-timed mill cards along the way. It's amazing what happens if you have 1 or 2 Jace's Erasures out and hit a streak of Faithless Looting and Visions of Beyond. You can eat through a 1/3 of an opponent's deck and restock your hand all at once.
Then a few creatures thrown in to help where they can. A few Undead Alchemists in the sideboard to bring in against creature heavy builds. Plus they have the added bonus of being great against reanimator strategies as well.
The Slumbering Dragon will come in against decks that try to attack real fast with lots of small creatures or token decks as well. Put them in the second game to fly over the top unexpectedly.
@strateupjee: you're totally right. i don't have any Reliquary Tower s so it hadn't really occurred to me. thanks! what do you think other than that?

I like the idea of a red blue mill deck. I think Faithless Looting could be cut for some more Mind Sculpt and Visions of Beyond . It will hurt your miracle cards a lot if you draw them with Faithless Looting . I like the card:Jace's Erasure + Faithless Looting though, that's pretty cool.

thanks. y'know i hadn't thought about the problem with the miracles. mainly because in the real (physical) version of this deck i don't actually have any Bonfire of the Damned . I just don't own any otherwise I would love to have them in there. that's probably why it didn't occur to me so much, although you're right about messing with my chances of using them effectively.

I would drop Chandra, the Firebrand or at least make her only a one of. You do not have enough board presence to keep her alive.
Jace, on the other hand is okay because his mill is so powerful.

all good points actually. thanks.
my reasoning for Chandra, the Firebrand is her ability to copy that spell. can be great as a removal or for blasting with Increasing Confusion out of the graveyard to mill for huge amounts. i agree with dropping one though.
the reason i didn't have Reforge the Soul in there is because i don't own any so it never really crossed my mind. that would be a nasty, nasty card though with card:Jace's Erasure. might have to snag me some of those. how many of those would you recommend in here do you think? same with Snapcaster Mage actually. until tonight! just got one at my local draft tonight so i'm stoked to plug him into something. this deck might be as good as any.
and you're right, that is a BEAST of a mill combo. though i can see why you've never been able to pull it off haha. imagine if Undead Alchemist wasn't combat damage. but just damage. you wouldn't even need the Mindcrank !
thanks for the input though. much appreciated.

i would realy suggest adding more mana at 22 during all playtest i had mana issues realy bad.(atleast 2. at 24 for it became lot less but still there)
i would replace Visions of Beyond with Think Twice reasoning for this is Faithless Looting . visions needs 20card in the grave to be actually good. Think Twice give some room to cast looting more easy(problem of mine is what to discard) and Think Twice work with card:Jace's Erasure and has option of bing used twice if not discarded by looting.
and just because you can Artful Dodge on it but that just for fun :)

Just putting this out there, but Bonfire of the Damned really isn't a card you sideboard. If you have 4, you run 4.
