Maybeboard

This is not a finished list, waiting to play with the upcoming set before adding in the new options (Thus the crazy maybeboard.) Looking for advice on any and all of the current choices!

Concept

With that said, I think that there is some potential here. The idea is to use combat oriented abilities that don't require you to cast spells. Bloodrush, Reinforce, and Channel are the main ones that came to mind. (There are more, like Forecast, but usually not in the best colours or of the best value.)

Bloodrush especially is mostly solid, and as it is always on creatures it allows for effects like Lead the Stampede to fetch both combat tricks and core creatures. (Looking for more options in that area)

Bloodrush cards that stand out:

Reinforce and Channel:

The other bonus is that you can make cards like Wildwood Rebirth and Pulse of Murasa consistent and usable. Especially when this effect is available at instant speed.

Next

My goal is to adjust this list with the new werewolves and their support cast. Then cleanup any of the less optimal creature options.

The commander here fits the theme of not casting spells, but it can be quite slow. For Bloodrush (and Channel + Reinforce) Radha, Heir to Keld has a lot of potential, as the becomes more useful.

Advice

If you have any suggestions for other interesting "not actually casting cards" effects please leave them below! Any general advice (ie. other support cards or notes about the upcoming set) are also welcome!

Thanks!

Aside:

I have also been looking into using Manifest as a support ability from cards like Wildcall or Whisperwood Elemental as this deck is/will be nearly 100% creature based for the non-land cars. So far it doesn't seem to be worth it, as the cards just aren't there.

Updates Add

I think the new werewolves are workable (Ulvenwald Captive  Flip, Kessig Prowler  Flip.) Someone pointed out a relatively decent synergy: they allow us to dump mana without casting and still get a big upside for that investment.

So later into the game it could be: pay & transform -> then have the other wolves flip at next upkeep since you didn't cast anything. Fits well with Bloodrush and friends too.

So flavor wise, big win for the deck.

The only, and unfortunately rather major, awkward point is their terrible interaction with Immerwolf. Very sad about that. Hope to see a few more higher profile Dronepack members still.

I will keep this updated as we get new stuff from this set

(Also Spirit of the Hunt is a great surprise so far!)
