This deck focuses on playing a lot of small defenders and ramping up your mana base ridiculously fast, so as to draw into an assault formation or kruphix's insight by turn five, and then swing for game turn six. Overwhelming grandeur can be used to lock down opponents and devastate their armies, and it is isn't unlikely to draw more than one of them or assault formation. With their removal used up on one of the two enchantments, they will either be overwhelmed by your massive armies or weakened dramatically with overwhelming grandeur. When playing against board wipe and counterspell heavy decks, abzan beastmaster works as a great draw early game, ensuring all key cards are drawn.
