Maybeboard

There is so much good discard in Standard right now. It's kind of an embarrassment of riches. Thoughtseize is the crown jewel, but they also brought back Duress. We have two delve-fueling-Mind Rots, Rakshasa's Secret and the insane Dark Deal.

Yet this wealth is going to waste. Can you think of a card that's really, really unimpressed with this? We designed it ourselves, guys!

Followed by turn three Dark Deal, Waste Not generates massive card advantage; you draw and/or spend the BB on Thoughtseize, Sign in Blood or Bile Blight . If they're foolish enough to pitch two lands, you cast another Dark Deal or Rakshasa's Secret off the BBBB and wreck their entire hand on turn three. Your opponent will be in topdeck mode early on.

Master of the Feast's disadvantage is turned on its head here. Giving your opponent cards during your turn means more fuel for Waste Not! With a couple of them in play, you can easily trigger an undead army.

Do you like...fish? Underrated graveyard-slurper Gurmag Angler beats up Siege Rhino and Tasigur, the Golden Fang by sheer virtue of his power and toughness. Necropolis Fiend is finally playable as well, thanks to the insanity of Dark Deal.

Speaking of Dark Deal, make sure to save extra lands in your hand--the early-game combo piece becomes late game card advantage for you, as you make your opponent drop their clutch card for nothing while cycling a bunch of land for gas.

Sign in Blood gives you another two-for-one--the first being Rakshasa's Secret --and is great to cast off a Waste Not mana trigger. Remember, you can target your opponent to finish them off--or to provide fuel for a Rakshasa's Secret with multiple Waste Nots on the board.

So, control is pretty much screwed (hell yeah!) once you bring in Duress. What about aggro? Don't worry. The board is loaded with kill spells.

Sideboard

Obviously, your toughest matchups are aggro decks that don't hold cards. No problem, games two and three turn two-for-one Rakshasa's Secret into many-for-one Drown in Sorrow.

Squelching Leeches makes an appearance vs. creature-light decks or flier hate, while Self-Inflicted Wound tips the odds against green-white.

There are some more Hero's Downfall to switch in vs. planeswalkers or multicolored creatures (Abzhan).
