This is my new take on a deck centered around Waste Not. It features discard effects, some control, and reanimation to leave the opponent with little to no answers. My first take on a Waste Not deck came into being after M15 released as a U/B deck. It focused on discard effects, bouncing the opponent's threats, and Master of the Feast, The deck worked fairly well, but never beyond that. I was never able to get it where I wanted it to be, so I put it on a shelf. Now that the next block is complete, I've regained interest and completely axed over half of the original list (RIP Master of the Feast) to make room for new cards while also adding a new color to the mix. The result is a Grixis deck heavy in black with a splash of red and blue. It is similar but also different in comparison to other Waste Not decks floating around this site.

No threats for you!

-Dark Deal- This is the wild-card of the deck. 80% of the time, this card devastates an opponent. There are situations where it can help your opponent, but this can be avoided by gaining hand knowledge with Despise or Duress and/or having a Waste Not on the field. Have considered dropping this to a "3 of" instead of a full set.

- Despise - Your ideal play on turn 1. With all the creatures and planeswalkers present in the current meta, this spell rarely misses. Even if it does, gaining hand knowledge is vital in this deck.

-Kolaghan's Command- The swiss-army knife of this deck. Discard, reanimate, artifact hate, and burn. A great play in almost any scenario.

-Mind Rot- A fantastic card in conjunction with Waste Not as it allows you to play mind games with your opponent. They will think twice about discarding excess lands when you are brooding over a full hand. This card is often gettting overlooked nowadays by Tasigur's Cruelty . I tried it, and just didn't find it to be very effective. In this deck's current state, it usually doesn't fall under 3CMC til turn 4 anyway.

-Thoughtseize- More flexible than Despise, but also a bit more costly. Is run mainboard over Duress for its ability to still take out those creatures.

-Dig Through Time- Go grab what you need. The delve also helps refine the graveyard for Tasigur's ability.

-Dissolve- During the course of a game, you will find your opponent able to get spells off past your barrage of discard effects (top deck draws are a good example). This is your back-up plan.

-Negate- Stop their dirty tricks! Great insurance for Tasigur and Dragonlord K.

-Murderous Cut- Another good back-up plan. The delve makes this very economical mid to late game, which is when you would be playing it.

The win-cons...

-Dragonlord Kolaghan- A fantanstic addition to decks like this. He makes this deck explosive with the haste he offers (hasty zombies are nice) and the synergy of his 10 damage bomb with discard effects. He often needs support from cards like Duress and Negate to be effective.

-Risen Executioner- The card that I believe makes a deck like this truly viable. He's a strong bruiser that buffs your Waste Not zombies, and reanimates easily. I want to up him to a full set, but have yet to try it out as I am not sure what to remove.

-Tasigur, the Golden Fang- A strong bruiser that allows you to reload your hand so you can keep the pressure on. Like Dragonlord K, he is going to receive lots of hate. Be sure to have to support ready when he hits the battlefield.

-Waste Not- The the driving force behind this entire deck. This card is amazing. This is the card that will allow you to remain one step ahead of your opponent. Getting multiple copies into play can get comical when you drop a Dark Deal or Mind Rot.

In summary I feel a deck like this could really lock down many other decks in today's meta. I'm excited to eventually get a free Friday or Saturday to try it out locally (busy life). Suggestions and Comments are most welcome!
