Sideboard

Maybeboard

Intro

Simple, straightforward, and effective: pound your friends with a never-ending onslaught of Warrior creatures that just keep coming back! While it might not be the most bulletproof in a serious competitive setting, this deck has just the right balance of power to be enjoyable to play in casual settings without typically overpowering anyone or getting overpowered itself. It's also pretty cheap, especially without the sideboard, and easy to play, making it great for players of any skill level.

Notable Combos

Runes of the Deus + many of the creatures in the deck - Runes is frequently going to be "Enchanted creature gains +2/+2, double strike, and trample," considering over half of the creatures in this deck have both R and G in their colors. This is a fearsome combination, even if you're starting with a (relatively) lower-powered creature such as Gruul Spellbreaker.

Colossus + Hellhole Flailer - as if a 7/4+ with Trample wasn't scary enough, your Flailer can proceed to Sacrifice himself after the Damage Step for another 7+ Damage to your opponent. Use this when Kresh the Bloodbraided is on the field for a triple-dip on the Flailer's power.

Deadbridge Chant + numerous resurrection spells - Since the deck is built with resurrection in mind, chances are you will have some form of "return target card from your graveyard to the battlefield" either in hand, in play, or quick on the draw. Not only will the Chant do some resurrection of its own, it may put a big nasty like Ruric Thar, the Unbowed or Kresh the Bloodbraided right where you want them.

Runes of the Deus + Ruric Thar, the Unbowed - if you can afford to take the initial 6 Damage from Ruric's hatred of all things non-creature, you'll have a hefty 8/8 with Vigilance, Reach, Trample, and Double Strike just waiting to tear into your hopeless opponents.

Other Notes

The Sideboard is about 50% comprised of cards that can be substituted to bolster your vulnerability to flying. Aside from that, Scab-Clan Giant can be a big body that synergizes well with the resurrection theme by wreaking some havoc every time he enters the field. Vengeful Rebirth can be slotted in if you feel you need the flexibility to return non-creature cards from the grave. Ordeal of Nylea can be used in place of (or addition to) Deathsprout as a land-grabber.

The Maybeboard is basically just a big dump of cards that are either Warriors in the right color, have some synergy with the general theme/cards in the deck, or both. One particular combo that is very fun is Dragon Breath + Dragon Fangs + Dragon Shadow , which can automatically attach to some of the hefty creatures in the deck such as Ruric Thar, the Unbowed when they get resurrected or even just when they're played from the hand to give a major dump of stats and abilities to even the most basic of 6 CMC creature. Important note: some (or even many) of the cards in the Maybeboard are not Modern-legal. Everything is Legacy-legal, however, if that's what you play casually!
