Warriors are back in town

Commander / EDH* Five Color Tribal

Rexadvenes

Warrior tribal is back and angrier than ever!

The goal of the deck is to go wide with Warriors, using Najeela to punish hard with the extra combat phases. Infinite combat phases are possible with cards like Bear Umbra or Druids' Repository with a critical mass of 5 attacking warriors.

Breaking the deck down

Creatures:

Alesha, Who Smiles at Death has some cute graveyard recursion for which there are 8 targets in the deck. I am uncertain if she'll pull through but for now her unique utility grants her a spot.

Arashin Foremost synergises well with multiple attack phases, giving another creature Double Strike with every wave.

Archetype of Aggression is a lightningrod for removal and makes sure all of the trample belongs to me if he actually manages to stick around.

Aven Wind Guide gives Najeela's tokens flying, some evasion they desperately need to not just get killed the combat they come down. Enbalm might randomly get relevant too.

Blaring Captain buffs my warrior bros when I attack, which is what I'm supposed to be doing anyway.

Blaring Recruiter gives me a mana sink for more Warrior tokens on instant speed. Good stuff, if I can get enough white mana.

Boldwyr Intimidator is the reason I wanted a Warrior tribal deck in the first place. "Cowards can't block warriors" is maybe the coolest rule text in the game and giving a creature evasion for is something I'd consider a fair deal on most days.

Brighthearth Banneret is great when played early or when the deck gets some card draw going, really letting you crank out more Warriors for cheap.

Brutal Hordechief has 2 abilities that can be devastating. Having a stick that can get rid of utility creatures is great if that stick also happens to be a Warrior.

Champion of Rhonas gets to abuse Exert to cheat in more goodstuff. Stonehoof Chieftain is the big ballsy play here but there's plenty of Warriors in this deck that love being put into play for free.

Chief of the Edge and Chief of the Scale buff their Warrior bros. Buffing Warrior bros is never a bad thing.

Combat Celebrant also abuses Exert to get an extra combat phase in for no mana. Very good when I can't quite hit the that Najeela loves.

Grand Warlord Radha gives me some ramp, which the deck greatly appriciates.

Hamletback Goliath is a big dumb dude. But that's okay, he's a Warrior at heart.

Herald of Dromoka's Vigilance is great, letting me do funny things with Exert without needing Najeela and letting me swing with the team without leaving myself open.

Jazal Goldmane is an absolute unit when going wide, and still solid on his own.

Jedit Ojanen of Efrava is the single triple devotion card in the deck and I'm honestly not too sure about him but the ability to spew more Warrior tokens seems like a decent tool.

Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet is graveyard hate on a Warrior stick. Or close enough to it, anyway. He says nay to sac-recurse decks and that's pretty big.

Kazuul, Tyrant of the Cliffs is as pillowforty as a Warrior dares to be. The Ogres aren't Warriors but they're welcome to hang out none the less.

Khenra Charioteer. Trample is fun.

Kresh the Bloodbraided is either going to be great fun or a huge letdown. Maybe both? We'll find out.

Lovisa Coldeyes is the single non-warrior creature in the deck because for some godawful reason she doesn't have the subtype she definitely deserves. Still, she buffs my warrior bros and as established earlier, buffing warrior bros is a good thing.

Mindblade Render. Punch people. Draw cards. Cast more creatures that punch people so you can draw more cards. Better when Najeela's around so Lifelink stops me from killing myself while I punch people.

Mirri, Weatherlight Duelist is a good answer to other decks that go wide. Go home Saprolings. Also makes for a surprising pillowfort if she doesn't have vigilance and Najeela doesn't untap her.

Neheb, the Eternal ramps me bigtime and is a solid Warrior on the side. Also a zombie. And a Minotaur. Yeah.

Radha, Heir to Keld is more punch-people ramp which is objectively the best kind of ramp.

Rubblebelt Raiders likes going wide and gets big and dumb when she does. I know I said Jedit Ojanen of Efrava is the only triple devotion card in the deck but I feel that hybrid mana doesn't really count here.

Stonebrow, Krosan Hero buffs my trampling Warrior bros which leads to big swingy hits.

Stonehoof Chieftain. Big. Dumb. Indestructable. Makes other dudes indestructable. Fun.

Surrak Dragonclaw does many things the deck appriciates. Flip off blue mages. Giving my dudes trample. He's also flashy.

Wolfir Silverheart brings 12 points of power to the table, assuming there's another guy on my side of the field. That's a great deal.

Yasova Dragonclaw stealing a creature on each of my combat phases is big, even if the creatures she steals aren't that big.

Instants:

Boros Charm. Board wipes are dumb, say no to them.

Cyclonic Rift is a dumb card that lets you win on the spot.

Secure the Wastes is ramp payoff that can do some silly things for my boardstate. MORE WARRIORS.

Swords to Plowshares. Sometimes you just need to get rid of a guy.

Artifacts:

Bident of Thassa draws me cards for punching people which is huge. Also screws opponents over by forcing them to attack.

Chromatic Lantern is a must in any 5-color deck.

Coat of Arms. Sometimes I like to kill my brain with math. Coat of Arms is good at that. Backfires against other wide decks like Elves and Slivers.

Door of Destinies buffs my warrior bros. You know the drill at this point.

Fellwar Stone is cheap ramp and tends to tap for whatever in a multiplayer game. Unless all your friends play mono-blue I guess, in which case you need better friends.

Lightning Greaves stops spot removal. Spot removal is a good thing to stop.

Obsidian Battle-Axe gives Warriors haste for free as they enter. Or well, one of 'em at a time anyway.

Sol Ring. Dumbest staple in the format. Play this card.

Swiftfoot Boots stops spot removal and that's neat.

Sword of Feast and Famine is another way to get me infinite combat phases with the upside that it's not a dead card when Najeela isn't around.

Urza's Incubator makes Warriors cheaper. I enjoy cheap Warriors.

Enchantments:

Bear Umbra is another combo piece for Najeela. Doesn't even have to hit to trigger, which is great.

Cathars' Crusade enables dumb boardstates. Repeat after me: buffing warrior bros is a good thing.

Descendants' Path is a bit clunky but fun when it works. Another tribal staple.

Druids' Repository is another Najeela combo piece that doesn't require making contact with an enemy to go off. Also (clunky) manafix which can randomly be relevant.

Shared Animosity. Buffing. Warrior. Bros.

Sorceries:

Distant Melody is great after I've dumped my hand on the board. Also works well with the Warrior tokens.

Farseek. This just in: mana fix is good in 5-color decks.

Kindred Dominance. If it's not a Warrior it probably was too weak to live anyway. End its suffering.

Skyshroud Claim fixes mana nicely. Never a bad card to have in any green deck.

Vindicate gets rid of dumb things.

Wrath of God. Sometimes you just have to reset the board.

Land:

To fix mana I'm running all shocks, all fetches (minus Verdant Catacomb because I don't own it), all tri-lands and some lands that tap for any colour. Straightforward stuff in general. The Utility lands:

Cascading Cataracts fixes my mana, which is very good for Najeela.

Path of Ancestry , another tribal staple.
