It's full of dangerous artifacts and endless wonder.

This was one of the first decks I built when I started playing Magic around the end of Scars block/beginning of Innistrad. Just for casual play. It's stayed one of my favorites since then, but I'd like to clean it up a bit and make it more cohesive. I don't want to reduce it to all 4-ofs because I like how eclectic it is, but I want it to run more consistently.

Metalcraft and Sunburst are key. I want to keep it relatively budget, but I'm open to suggestions. Since the goal is to have lots of artifacts (permanently), I want artifacts that won't feel like dead weight.

Goals:

Reach Metalcraft and give the Etched Champion protection. Build an army and power it up with my Steel Overseer. Get to the Wurmcoil Engine and run them down while gaining life. Pump out as many artifacts and artifact creatures as possible. Use the Bringer of the White Dawn to recycle things. Win.

Things to go: I almost never utilize Embersmith because this deck doesn't have the mana base for it. I usually end up needing all my mana for other things, and it's only one damage at a time. I like Stoic Rebuttal as a Metalcraft version of Counterspell, but I hardly use it, and this deck doesn't take much advantage of control. More to follow.
