might you be better off with Wrath of God instead of all is dust? you can protect your commander from it and still have your equipment is my thinking. I love this commander and still have much to learn about him. looks good. +1'ed

Thank you RazortoothMtg and ohmless!

Wrath of God does not target ohmless, so I believe that 8.5 dies as well. Still undecided what to do :-)

hexproof affects targeting stuff, but if I recall correctly, protection saves from boardwipes. may want to check into that one more, but if protection can save your creature from a boardwipe, I would definitely put in Wrath of God and maybe some more sweepers.

Decided to put in Wrath of God, it's too good too ignore in Voltron. Thanks for the suggestion ohmless.

Further on I want to try Ajani, Caller of the Pride and Fireshrieker in this build. I believe they are pretty decent for this deck. Suggestions and tips as always welcome!

Do you consider like Avacyn, Angel of Hope? She seems like a staple.

I'd go with less 1:1 removal. It kind of sucks in commander

@KingTorg1 : Half of the time we play Dual Commander. So thats the reason I like the single removal. But do you recommend other mass removal when in normal commander?

It looks good overall, but I would consider adding Relic Seeker and Leonin Shikari for utility, and Leonin Abunas and Indomitable Archangel to protect your all-important equipment, maybe? Your commander somewhat has that covered, but it's still nice to not have to expend mana to do so. Indestructible would be wonderful to protect against non-targeted board wipes, but the only thing that comes to mind is Darksteel Forge, which is way too expensive for a competitive decks...

Knight of the White Orchid offers ramp and can tutor for Mistveil Plains.

Leonin Abunas gives your Equipment hexproof. 8.5 can only protect your Equipment when you have the mana for his abilities. Having other cards protect your Equipment from targeted removal is ideal.

Relic Seeker is another cheap Equipment tutor on a body. It has to hit a player to do so, but in a deck designed around getting one creature to connect, it isn't difficult.

Solemn Simulacrum is a great value creature that helps alleviate White's shortcomings.

Sword of the Animist is an easily tutorable ramp engine.

Expedition Map is a tutor for your utility lands.

Open the Armory from Shadows Over Innistrad is another Equipment tutor and it can grab Darksteel Mutation if needed.

Remember the Fallen is a great 2-for-1 recursion spell.

Oblation is a catch-all tuck spell.

Mikokoro, Center of the Sea is a fantastic card draw engine.

Maybeboard:

Aura of Silence - Effective against other Voltron decks.

Eternal Dragon - I'm a huge fan of this card. He gets you a land drop, he's a cheap shuffle effect to refresh your library after using Scroll Rack, and he's a large, flying body that hold Equipment well if you need him to.

I have updated my deck with new options and I would like to thank NensouHiebara and Daedalus19876 for your valuable comment.

You might consider Ancient Den and Mox Opal for mana acceleration. Also, Extraplanar Lens often works better with Snow-Covered Plainss, to avoid giving WW to opponents.

This almost looks like my bogles deck, PartyJ! (Except EDH, of course).

There are some very high-quality enchantments out there, I personally think they would run better than some of your equipment (but your deck seems very pro-equipment).

1- Kor Spiritdancer. A bomb, card advantage, just a huge brute who gets big FAST.

2- Ethereal Armor Insane value, especially when you get tons of enchantments.

3- Hyena Umbra Once again, great value.

Good to see that you added Open the Armory, I was gonna suggest it but Ctrl+F'ed just to make sure, that card must be great here.

If you are running heavy artifacts then Indomitable Archangel is a must.

If you are running heavy enchantments then Starfield of Nyx can really work for you as it gets your enchantments back after a wipe.

Sigil of the Empty Throne and Myth Realized are more situational for enchantments, but can certainly work too.

I agree, snow covered plains would be best for Extraplanar Lens. Also, Caged Sun is better than Gauntlet of Power, as I see little purpose to be granting your opponent's the same ramp as you.

I always love when Armory of Iroas resolves but I suppose it would be too small/slow for you.

Perhaps a sideboard Nevermore or Jester's Cap? Could stop that pesky combo ever getting cast. Or just name Bane of Progress before it's even relevant.

Cool stuff, I'm sure it plays well!

Thanks for the suggestions Daedalus19876.

I am doubtning if I need more mana acceleration at this point. I have my doubts about Mox Opal, since I need 2 more artifacts. When I have those, usually I am after turn 4. It feels too late to call it acceleration by then.

One plain I will swap for Ancient Den. This seems like a wise move.

I wish I had the snow covered plains. But There is not too much white in my meta as of now. So I'd better keep the budget for something else for now.

Hi Bovine073,

thanks for your comment. As you partially concluded yourself, I am very equipent driven in this build. The reason for this is that when my commander gets nuked, the equipment remains on the battlefield, where auras go to the graveyard. Playing Voltron with equipment proved really well, since you can use your equipment for a plan B when your original approach might fail in the first place.

So I would like to stick to the equipment flavor. Thanks anyway :)

I always appreciate a possible new insight.

Hey lords2001,

in a previous version of this deck I had Indomitable Archangel, but a few times I had it in my hand it felt clumpy when I was seemlingly low on artifacts (sometimes it hapens, yes). I decided to have one of this kind of creature in the deck and Leonin Abunas does the same for 4 cmc and he always protects the gear without the limitation.

Thnaks for your thoughtful input anyway.

PartyJ says... #22

Profet93, the one mana less for Gauntlet of Power seems like a better investment, knowing that white isn't massively played in our meta. A few have white and I tend to have such a thing in my opening hand and 6 cmc is not something that I adore havin' then.

If you feel otherwise, please let me know how you think of this, as I also have a certain doubt about choosing between Caged Sun and Gauntlet of Power.

PartyJ says... #23

Thanks for the suggestions Izzetdimir. Greatly appreciated.

Armory of Iroas feels too slow for a Voltron build. For 2 mana there are better options that give more overall strength to the Voltron cause.

Your sideboard options are pretty solid. In our meta we aren't playing super competitive, so I already had a discussion about Nevermore being too lame to use. I don't want to upset the audience :-) It shuts down commanders xD

I woud still like to be invited ;)

Jester's Cap is nice, but I can't think of any deck atm here where there is like a 1/2 cards that would really ruin my day. When that takes place, the cap is an auto include! Thanks!

Scary looking deck! +1 from me.

Have you considered Open the Vaults? Would be a nice way to recover if your efforts have been twarted late game.

PartyJ says... #25

Thanks for your suggestion Cerradura,

lookign at my meta I believe this card could backfire, knowing that many enchantments and artifacts could be spread among many graveyards. I prefer to aim at recursion options that solely help only me recover like Argivian Archaeologist and Nahiri, the Lithomancer
