Jonathan Suarez piloted this commander on an episode of Commander Versus and I needed to build a Volrath deck of my own. Volrath is expensive to put out and he has no evasion on his own but the nature of big black mana is that even when you're not able to do the thing you started out trying to do, you have super powerful high CMC cards to play with. Commander damage is your first line of play but you could fall back onto re-animation and big black spells if Volrath keeps getting destroyed.
