Make plans, and visit enchanting Hanweir TODAY!

This is a Standard deck built with a focus on Eldritch Moon cards, using Horror creating mechanics, and inflicting damage with aggressive Humans. I'm still considering refining, but this is the 2nd stage of the concept!

So, this is the normal deck description. This deck focuses on having a fast and low mana curve, with the most expensive thing being the meld cost of Hanweir, the Writhing Township.
Victory comes early with multiple tokens, 1/1 Humans, and pumping Thalia's Lieutenant while dropping 3/2 Eldrazi Horrors with Otherworldly Outburst and Extricator of Sin.
Mid-Game victory is achieved with a fully melded Hanweir, the Writhing Township and delirium fueled lesser creatures.
Swap in Chaplain's Blessing for Incendiary Flow and Collective Defiance when dealing with burn decks.
Bring your Ironwright's Cleansing in for the same two sorceries when challenged by enchantment/artifact decks.
Toss in the Faith Unbroken and/or Repel the Abominable if big Eldrazi and monsters are a problem.
Give No Ground for token generating aggro decks.

I ran Collective Defiance for removal, Manemaan, and took it out in favor of the more potent Declaration in Stone, and the exile ability of Incendiary Flow has paid off quite a bit in my local meta against a very annoying mana symbol bmana symbol u Zombie deck.

I specifically didn't want any of the fair-weather werewolves like Breakneck Rider  Flip. I had been running a werewolf deck locally and it was really easy for my opponents to force them to flip. Collective Effort and Blessed Alliance both fit into the same role, with the lifegain option of Alliance proving to be an unwelcome surprise for many opponents.

Gryff's Boon was/is on my consideration table to replace Faith Unbroken, and may still replace Slayer's Cleaver in my sideboard.

LOVE the deck so +1!

I just wanted to ask, why the Desperate Sentry? Yes, when he dies you get the 3/2 eldrazi horror, but do you get the delirium a lot?

Also, why is Thraben Gargoyle  Flip used?

Please don't take this the wrong way because I actually love the deck just asking a few questions. :)

If the Thraben Gargoyle  Flip isn't doing much, I think take it out for 2 more Thalia's Lieutenant's because those are just GREAT! If you want, I think you should take out the Desperate Sentry for 2 more Thraben Inspectors because Hanweir has had some reports of not-nice things and maybe 1 Thalia, Heretic Cathar or Breakneck Rider  Flip just something that really WOWS the opponent.

Again, I do love the deck and so please take this the "right" way.

Well, that's me.

poopiepoopiepants1, your first and second questions are actually related.

I use Desperate Sentry because it's characterful, is really annoying to block, and I DO get delirium often.

How? With the help of my 1-drop Thraben Gargoyle  Flips. These little guys are great. I put one on the table, sac it when Extricator of Sin ETBs, and add two card types toward delirium.

That's half way there with one card. (or 3/4 if I discard it with Tormenting Voice, and draw 2!)

Thanks for the time, and the compliments!

I liked the look of this so much that I actually built it verbatim. Its playing great and I love all of the mechanics you came up with. I have one question for you. Did you ever experiment with <> on the sideboard to be swapped with your <>? I did this and I was able to use either <> or <> to get it to flip turn 2 or 3. 4/4 first strike, trample, lifelink isn't to shabby. Thanks so much for putting this together. Its awesome.

Thank you for all your praise, scarson300!

I have tried the Lone Rider  Flip combo that you mentioned, but it's in a different deck. A mono-white standard deck based off of that combo and the Heirloom + Missionaries combo. It was effective, but not as characterful and fun as this, so I quit the design in favor of Lovely Hanweir.

That being said, if it works for you, go for it!

I have one more question for you Panzerforge if its not to much trouble. I have been practicing a good bit with this deck but sadly I am often coming up against not being able to bring out more than 3 Eldrazi horrors before I am either out of cards in my hand or my opponent has a formidable force of larger creatures. Have you envisioned any way to possibly bump the deck up a bit to be able to deal with a slower start?

Question. why do you have Stone Quarry and not Needle Spires? The spires comes into the taped like the quarry, it adds the same mana as the quarry, but you can make it a creature if you have spare mana. Other that that +1

I'd venture to guess it is because Needle Spires rotates out in a month.

Correction, sorry it doesn't rotate out yet, silly me.

jp9506 & ThatGuy610, it's because the entire deck is SOI/EMN block.

Sorry, my first post got messed up when I published it.

I am going to build this deck, mostly because it looks awesome, and I have most of the cards already.

Have you thought about Evolving Wilds (http://evolvingwilds) to get the land in the yard for another Delirium trigger?

Also, I have two Thalia Heretic Cathars (http://thaliahereticcathar), and was thinking about putting her into the deck. Have you tried her in it?

Lastly, how cool would it be to have Emrakul in here for flavor...she floats over Hanweir, and the township just goes mad.

Geo67, I generally don't have an issue with not getting delirium. Terrarion and Vessel of Volatility put them selves in the graveyard, as do all the instants and sorceries, and Extricator of Sin is good at putting creatures there. Failing all that, discard a land to pay for Tormenting Voice, and get a two-for-two.

I have considered Thalia, Heretic Cathar but opted for her Lieutenant instead. Thalia's Lieutenant + Hanweir Garrison is a runaway train. Thalia herself is too much on Team Sorin/Gatewatch for me anyway. I'm all in for team Nahiri/Emrakul.

Speaking of Emrakul, yes, it would be nice to have her there, but her high cost and lack of synergy with the rest of the deck just don't work for me.

Thanks for taking the time to look at my deck!

p.s., if you put card names between two [ and two ] you get things like Blacker Lotus.

Thank you. I will remember the card trick. It's frustrating not being able to link the cards to roll over pics.

I plan on buying [thalia's lieutenant].

Hello.I really like your deck. It is cheap and effective. Are you planning any update? I think few cards from Kaladesh or Aether revolt could improve it a lot.
