Villainy at its Finest!! (Baron Von Count)

Commander / EDH* BR (Rakdos)

Lord_Keithulhu

In the words of Megamind: "The difference between villain and supervillain? PRESENTATION!!!"

After the release of Unstable, I looked everywhere online to see what kinds of decks were being brewed for each commander. There were tons of awesome decks for every commander except one - Baron Von Count. For him, every single deck being brewed had one plan: "count from 5 to 1 as quickly as possible by casting cheap, bad cards with lots of numerals in them."

The Baron wouldn't build a deck that way. He doesn't care about silly things like "efficiency" or "winning." What he really wants is HUGE, RIDICULOUS cards making CRAZY things happen, all while he cackles maniacally in the background, monologuing about YOUR INEVITABLE DEMISE.

And so, I built this deck. It's designed so that every single card is either from the Unstable set, or referencing evil villainy in some way or another. A few fun examples:
- Shrine of Limitless Power: Yeah, it's an awful card. But, like... that name...
- Clock of DOOOOOOOOOOOOM!: This is a perfect card (obviously), and it's the whole reason I ended up putting a bunch of Steamflogger cards in the deck. It needed to shine.
- Glorious End: Supervillains can't just die. They have to fall screaming off a cliff from a thousand feet up into a pit of spikes/river of crocodiles/etc. This card literally couldn't not be here. Yippee-ki-yay, Hans.
- Humble Defector: Every villainous organization has THAT guy. You know, the minion with a heart who'll inevitably betray the empire right at the very beginning of the movie. (I'm looking at you, Fin.)
- Fateful Showdown: The only thing better than the villain's inevitable fall from a cliff into an active volcano is the climactic showdown between them and the hero! Every villain needs a good fateful showdown or three.

You'll also notice that I added a bunch of seemingly random legendary creatures. Oh, trust me. They're in there for a reason.
- All the Unstable League of Dastardly Doom cabal: Well, duh. Of course they're here backing up their head honcho.
- Chainer, Dementia Master: This guy's here because of his creature type. Minion. That's a no-brainer.
- Jaya Ballard, Task Mage: Every villainous cabal needs a mysterious, well-endowed minion clad in an unfortunate amount of black leather. Jaya will stand in the background, smirking seductively while wiping out all those pesky blue permanents. And eventually, she'll blow up in a flaming explosion and deal 6 damage to everything.
- Kiku, Night's Flower: The mysterious assassin who uses her enemies' own shadows against them? Oh yeah, that's some prime backstabbing minion material there. She'll totally end up betraying everyone in the end and escaping for a sequel movie.

I could seriously explain every single card in here, but I won't do that here. Comment with any suggestions for cards you think would work well in this theme deck! I hope you like it!
