So Collective Brutality is a low key amazing card.
I'm assuming Tarmogoyf is left out for budget reasons?
Also, both might be a bit hard for someone so young to understand, but both would work well for the deck.

Exactly... Goyf, and also snaps, have lots of interplay with other cards ...which is something I'm sure he'll pick up on eventually. Cards with a lot of options can be confusing, too; I took out Sultai Charms after noticing he'd only ever use the draw/discard mode.
I didn't plan on having as many planeswalkers in here as there are now, but he's very enthusiastic about them. He ultimate'ed Tamiyo whilst playing one of our first games. Ever since then, he thinks planeswalkers are the best cards. :D

I figured the options might be a bit much.... but if you want extra creatures another fun one that is relatively simple would be Pack Rat!
In regards to the delving options, I wouldn't go past 3 or 4 delving cards. It just gets to hard to delve out all the time... Plus, I'd rather have a Go for the Throat over Murderous Cut. Just a bit easier on the mana most of the time. Angler seems like he would be ok as an extra delve critter or 2.
I'd also recommend Liliana, the Last Hope. It kills several creatures in modern, returns most of your creatures to your hand from grave, and has an ult that will take over in time. She's actually pretty strong, I want to run her in my sultai delver list as at least a 1 of!
Best of luck to you and your son!

I was going to say Tamiyo felt a little out of place here, but I just read your comment about his thing with planeswalkers...
Actually, I'd really wanted to congratulate you for introducing your kid to MTG. That's awesome.
But, back onto cards, I believeAshiok, Nightmare Weaver might have something add up here. Liliana, the Last Hope is far beyond cool too, but it might cost up something. I'd swap the second Jace for one of them, and maaaaaaybe swap Gifted Aetherborn for Vampire Nighthawk, but it may require a little change in your mana-curve.
Anyhow, awesome list and awesome relationship. Keep it up, you're a great dad.

Thank you! I'm delighted, not just because he enjoys playing & collecting cards, but also because he's becoming rather good at it :)

You're welcome. You deserve it.
Also, a little doubt: how good is Vorosh? I always thought a 6-drop without hexproof would be a little silly, since it gets hit by Path to Exile and Terminate, and even Murderous Cut in a super hipothetic scenario.
Have you tried Silumgar, the Drifting Death? I play it in a stupid esper list as a finisher, and he is pretty amazing.

Vorosh ends the game pretty quickly if he's can't be answered or chumped. He's also kind of a fun target for Jace Architect's ultimate.
At times, I'd thought about swapping him for either a Gurmag Fish or Tireless Tracker... but like most kids his age, he loves dragons. So I'm really digging your Silumgar suggestion. I'm his usual opponent, & that attack trigger would be pretty brutal against my Lingering Souls.
I usually play BGW Smallpox/Loam against him:
http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/lo-amp-ox-1/ Lingering Souls is pretty much why I've got him running two Jace Architects. And yeah, Lili Last Hope would also be incredible in this matchup!

Inquisition of Kozilek isn't too gruesome for your 7-year-old? Wow, he's a lot more mature than I was at 7 lol
As for actual suggestions, some number of Remands and Opts are probably good here, maybe instead of some of the really expensive finishers like Silumgar, the Drifting Death and Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet. Tasigur and Hooting Mandrills are usually good enough. Also, Hero's Downfall is a little on the expensive side for Modern, maybe Go for the Throat instead (assuming the art is OK; there's also a promo version Go for the Throat)?

Granted, Inquisition of Kozilek art is iffy... but honestly, until I looked at the full-size illustration, I had no idea what was happening in this art. I could only see a lot of hair, a mix of red body paint + probably blood, someone whose expression looks pretty calm, and someone else in a mask who appears to be hugging Calmdude.
The art on Inquisition of Kozilek, by comparison, is more nightmare-fuel-esque... if only for Grabbed-By-Monster-Guy's expression.
My boy loves dragons. If this were my deck, Silumgar, the Drifting Death would definitely be replaced. I tend to play Lingering Souls against him quite a bit, and Silumgar can be a rather effective answer.
So happy about Opt coming over to Modern.

Pithing Needle + Inquisition of Kozilek + Surgical Extraction seem kinda... graphic? At least for a 7 year old. Your choice tho and im glad u introduced another kid to magic, besides that idek what would be good, probably Grim Flayer and Tarmogoyf. Also that takes some balls to let a kid touch cards like snappies :p
