Description

Lets find the Golden City and crush those Dino riding fools! Gut any fish that get in your way! Show those pirates why they are heathens! Found out that I only have 3 mimics left but decided to add them anyways. I've been coming up with a rough sideboard but nothing major yet.

Went 2-2 which included a bye. First round got swept by a fellow vampire player. He just managed to out aggro me. Second was 1-2 vs sultai energy which I lost due to a misplay (didn't use a combat trick at the right point) and my win was against a new player using RG energy. Making a few changes based on what I noticed while playing the deck. Also, out of 7 games, I somehow never saw a Gifted Aetherborn. That was my kind of luck.

I ran a B/W vampire deck at my prerelease and got really excited for vampires in standard. I love this deck, but no Bishop of Rebirth? I ran a few Sheltering Lights and Adanto Vanguards for combat trick shenanigans and because the vanguard can be a serious threat. Skittering Heartstopper ain't a vampire, but I noticed it help keep those dinosaurs off me as a blocker. I also sealed one game with Blight Keeper's sac ability. a Soul Feast on a creature!

I would think about the Sheltering Light as a combat trick but for FNM type games, I wanna run more tribal. Bishop of Rebirth is a decent card but my main power cards are 4cmc and I wanna use the 5 slot to seal the game by draining via Bishop of the Bloodstained. I ran vampire tribal at my prerelease and it could runaway with Mavren Fein, Dusk Apostle

How will this do against Mono red burn and Black Devotion modern?

Also have you had succeas?

This is a standard deck so I don't think Black Devotion will be an issue. I built this shell based on cards I pulled from my packs so I still need to get a bunch of them on paper. I test on MTGO so I haven't bought into the deck yet. Waiting for the pre release hype to lower

What do you think about Indulgent Aristocrat, Cliffhaven Vampire and Dranas Emissary?

September 24, 2017 8:09 p.m.

They won't be legal next week when these cards are.

A few ideas. Yahenni! He is great. Hard to remove/free sac outlit. Dusk/dawn is great here. All of your creatures fly under the sweeper and it brings back your threats. Good luck!

I have Yahenni set aside in the pile of cards right now and forgot to add him to the deck. Not sure where to stick him yet but he should make the cut. Dusk / Dawn might end up a sideboard card. I have to think about it as a way to kill off those pesky dinos

Why no metallic mimic

I see that it says there's Some card illegal for standard is that true?

If you look it's all the Ixalan cards. I think that tag will be removed tomorrow

Have a good sideboard yet? Also had to forego adding Fatal Push at the moment so Walk the Plank is a good budget replacement.

I have been working on a sideboard plan but nothing concrete yet. Maybe something like 4x Bloodcrazed Paladin 3x Vraska's Contempt 3x Saving Grace 3x Doomfall 2x Crook of Condemnation. This is a super rough idea however, just ways to deal with board wipes and graveyard hate
