I'm always torn about Anointed Procession as I like the card. Earlier versions had the card in the deck but it felt like a "win more" card. It also is another 4 drop in a deck with a heavy mana-curve. As for the deserts, I understand your concern but I need as much digging for answers as I can fit. The deck is literally a "one trick pony". If I don't get the horse, the deck just limps along.

-2 Aven Wind Guide. +2 Temmet, Vizier of Naktamun
-4 Implement of Improvement+4 Champion of Wits.
-2 strategic planning, +2 farm/market.
Diversifies your game plan some and lowers your curve I think. I also wonder if embalminging tools would be good in place of manalith...
This makes more of a token and graveyard plan. You could almost sideboard in god-pharaoh's gift or just trust your opponent to expect you to have it and then maybe end up with useless artifact removal waiting for you to play one. You could also move Cast Out to the sideboard if you want to maindeck anointed procession. Just my thoughts... I like the deck!
Ps-Tap lands are rough if you have too many... The cycling is not worth the tempo loss vs just running better card draw like Champion of Wits that also gives you a recursive threat.

Great deck idea but you're thinking about it all wrong if you are looking for speed. You are playing standard so you can play two colors with basic lands and be faster than you are now. Play 3x Oketra's Monument, because you don't need Manalith in a 2 color deck. Oketra's Monument will speed up your heavy hitters and improve your token strategy. Best of luck!

ramuzzini: I originally had monuments in but changed them. Here's why; Both the monument and the manalith allow me to play the horse on turn 4, but The Manalith can also help with embalm/eternalize as well as instances and sorceries. I feel these reasons outweigh the 1/1 tokens from the monument. Thanks.
hullos: Thanks for the input. I had planned on adding that as soon as possible. Arer there any other cards from Ixalan that you think will help?

you could add legion's landing it gives you essentially a sacred cat but had the ability to transform into a land that you can keep getting guys from. not sure if it fits in the deck well or not.

Perhaps Cultivator's Caravan then for ramp? It doubles as a threat when you crew it to smash with a 5/5 vehicle. Most of your creatures can't crew it alone, but still a threat your opponent has to respect. Plus it can survive a Wrath of you don't crew it first.

Your focus should be tokens and early game. Embalm and eternalize are late game bonuses not strategies. I find it hard to believe Manalith has played better. I have a token deck too and the most powerful aspect of any token deck is swarming the battlefield. If that's not your goal then I understand. But any great deck focuses on its strengths.
