Drafted an okay UR wizards deck even though the guy to my left was in the exact same deck.
What worked:
Karn. No surprise, he slots into every deck and lets you keep refueling your hand. I think I used his -1 once and never used his -2.
Goblin Barrage. 4 damage to a creature that can be kicked for just sacrificing a goblin or an artifact to also deal 4 to the opponent's face/planeswalker. I never kicked this spell, it was great with just its basic side.
Time of Ice. Bought me a lot of time and the fact that its third activation bounces ALL tapped creatures makes it incredible.
Radiating Lightning. Seriously won me games against saproling decks and as just a bolt to the face.
Adeliz. While she didn't singlehandedly carry she did more than her fair share of work.
What didn't work
Syncopate. I kept missing with it or not seeing when I could have used it.
Unwind. I never drew it when it would be useful, only when my opponent did nothing but creature spells.
Powerstone Shard. Started with both in my deck. Never did jack for me, just took up space. Swapped them out for another Blink and a Radiating Lightning.
What I'd have done differently
Sitting with another guy drafting Wizards to my left meant I didn't get passed a lot of good wizards until pack 2 so I pretty much doubled down on taking the good(?) removal spells.
I know there was another Adeliz in the draft I could have taken and in hindsight probably should have.
There was a second Mirari Conjecture as well but I don't think the payoff was there for a second of it.
Ditched the Syncopate and Unwind. They never lined up for me. Wizard's Retort was grand every time I cast it.
