You don't need a heavy reanimator subtheme to effectively use Scion. He allows you to tutor for any dragon you want. There are many scenarios where turning into a different dragon just for a turn can lead to huge blowouts. (Transforming into Balefire Dragon to wipe someone's board, Silumgar V1.0 to remove blockers, Scourge of the Throne for an alpha strike, Utvara Hellkite to leave behind an army of tokens etc...)

Since you already have Living Death and Patriarch's Bidding, Scion allows you to have a combo-ish wincon by tossing a bunch of dragons into the GY on the end step before your turn when you cast the mass reanimation.
