This is essentially a deck idea for what would be my first real (modern) fnm deck. My goals are to be relatively competitive in that setting and to be under 100$. I currently only own casual decks. When I was 14 I tried to build a "competitive" fmn mono green devotion deck, but it was single-mindedly about ramping huge creatures into play and of course I got bodied lol. My inspiration for this deck is my favorite casual deck I play, a UR sorta spell slinging deck. I decided on that concept simply becuase this is the most enjoyable way for me to play the game. This deck started trying to go more in a storm/burn direction where I would just try to copy spells to trigger Kiln Fiend or other guys like that. I abandoned this idea once I realized that copies do not trigger prowess type abilities becuase you are not technically casting them. After that, I came up with the current iteration, which is more midrangey and essentially this: 1. creatures that benefit from instants and sorceries. 2. cheap instants and sorceries. I essentially just tried to do this using mostly cards from decks that have top eighted an event. The maybeboard is the card pool I looked at that could work in this deck or other potential builds of it. I don't really know what to do in terms of sidboarding, becuase I don't know the meta very well rn. Other than that theres not much else to say. This is the first deck am seriously considering dropping any sort of money on, so please give feedback! It would be greatly appreciated :).
