Second Draft —March 7, 2017

Hey! First, thanks for all the feedback and suggestions to date! I've had the chance to play this a bit, and I've had varying feelings on certain cards, so that brings us to this current list, what I'll call 'round two' haha! I plan on continuing to sharpen the spear that has become Saskia, and look forward to fixing the manabase a bit more with Modern Masters coming soon, wish me luck!

blackhawk22 which would you think is the best to add, if any, out of my new maybeboard?

How heavy do you want to focus on the human side? and if you're going to try +1 counters as well (with Cathars' Crusade), might want to lean more towards that, e.g Hardened Scales, Inspiring Call, Retreat to Kazandu, Reap What Is Sown. If not, maybe best to remove it.

I tried full-humie with my EDH Karametra's Cornucopia and there is a lot of synergy there, but some really jump out like Abzan Falconer (counters), Borderland Ranger (filter/ramp), Champion of the Parish (counters), Courageous Outrider(draw/filter), Elite Scaleguard (counters), Heron's Grace Champion (this one is seriously bad-ass), Karametra's Acolyte (ramp), Knight of the White Orchid (ramp), Mentor of the Meek (draw), Riders of Gavony (protection), Steward of Valeron (ramp), Veteran Cathar (double strike).

Ah and Village Bell-Ringer is hilarious.

As for possible cuts; Commander's Sphere, Abzan Ascendancy, Sylvan Caryatid, Assemble the Legion (it's really cool but I've never managed to get much value out of it), and if you decide not to keep the +1 counter sub-theme, probably also take out Kresh the Bloodbraided and Mikaeus, the Lunarch.

Champion of the Parish, Mentor of the Meek, and Heron's Grace Champion all seem like the best to include

There's the new artifact that lets pay green whenever you cast a creature spell and draw a card along with scry at your upkeep. With your maybe board is say that's the best bet

What about Kari Zev, Skyship Raider? 2 cmc, first strike, menace, works with alesha and mentor, and you get a free monkey!

I'm not impressed by the Lifecrafter's Bestiary, mainly because it works with cast instead of ETB.. but I could be wrong, let me know if it works well :).

I'd go with Xenagos; Indestructible 6/5, easier to cast with 2 dedicated colors, +haste and +X power.

Kresh is cool but I feel he would perform better if you ran more black sac/destroy outlets, perhaps even pairing off with Savra, Queen of the Golgari, Reyhan, Last of the Abzan, Corpsejack Menace, and Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest... maybe I should build a deck like this.

My thoughts precisely. He's a badass warrior, but I feel he's too big of a target and I'm not using him to the fullest of his potential without those other outlets, like you said

Kari Zev, Skyship Raider is slightly annoying at best. after playing with her on paper i was not impressed. She is no Brimaz, King of Oreskos or Hero of Bladehold and works best with revolt triggers. like with Solemn Recruit. I would argue that Lifecrafter's Bestiary is better than Mentor of the Meek because of the scry every turn and there is very little token generation in this deck and Mentor of the Meek can only be used with creatures of power 2 or less.

also Mentor of the Meek only has 16 possible triggers in this deck as of right now. so if you're looking to draw cards there might be a better replacement
