This is an unusual deck named Retribution. It's a Black-White Morbid Quest build inside an Affinity shell. I want to let loose the plane of Innistrad's most powerful demonlord so that he may finally attain his retribution by dominating my enemies!

Quest is an oddity most decks in the format simply cannot deal with effectively; this archetype's ability to potentially pump out high-powered equipment extremely fast makes Quest potent and deadly. Elbrus, the Binding Blade   is a very underrated and very abusable spell in the right deck and Quest is the perfect home for it. With the bevy of low-costed creatures to the rack up counters on Quest for the Holy Relic , Withengar Unbound   slamming down into the battlefield as early as turn two is nearly certain and if the opponent has no answer they will almost immediately concede.

However, awkward draws from this deck are currently preventing Quest from becoming the top tier Modern threat it probably should be, I seek to hopefully solve this problem here fairly soon.

I want this to be competitive, so suggestions are welcome.

(On December 4, 2015, Wizards officially spoiled Stoneforge Mystic as the 2016 Grand Prix Promo with beautiful artwork by Johannes Voss. Now, there's some speculation that this means she could be unbanned in Modern... If that happens, and I hope it does, Quest would definitely get a huge power-boast! I'm running out to get copies of her before the price shoots up, and even if she doesn't get unbanned, Stoneforge Mystic would still be a nice additon to my collection for casual play!)

  • Match 1: U/W Merfolk 1 - 2

(It should have been a good matchup but the splash of white throw me off. Fish casts Stony Silence one game and I never recovered... Merfolk is one my fav decks to play against; I might build one!)

(If someone would tell me more about this one...? At first, it ran like G/R Bogles with Rancor & Monastery Swiftspear. He tried to combo off but he couldn't squeeze in that last point of damage and conceded; Cranial Plating + Cranial Plating + Vault Skirge really came through there. Next game, flipped Withengar Unbound  Flip and he conceded again.)

  • Match 4: U/R Storm 1 - 1 - 0

(Technically, I had this one... First game, he managed to combo off; It was gross. In between, I sideboarded in two Leyline of Sanctitys & two Grafdigger's Cages to shutdown his Pyromancer Ascension & Past in Flames. Second game, I drew a dream hand and it went: turn 0, Leyline of Sanctity; turn 1, Quest for the Holy Relic; and flipped Withengar Unbound  Flip on turn 3. He scooped on the spot. Third game went to time, I was at 20 life and he at 1 life. He refused to die so we drew... It was a phenomenal match though; the kid played beautifully, I had to give him credit.)

I was running a B/W Morbid Quest version of this at the time. It had Skirsdag High Priest and Viscera Seer; all in all, Unholy Quest did rather well considering I ran Death Cultist instead of Viscera Seer. :v
