Early Game

Play politically. Keep the focus away from you. Don't drop Humility turn 2. But keep the game going slowly, remember, this is a Stax control deck.

However, this deck is capable of a turn 1 win. Nut draw scenario:

You need . Land, Chrome Mox (plus exile), Mana Crypt or land, Mana Crypt , Mana Vault / Grim Monolith , and a signet.

Flash in Arena Rector , grab Jace, Wielder of Mysteries . Activate Jace's +1, hold priority, then cast Demonic Consultation naming a card not in your deck. Ta-daaa! Turn 1 win.

Mid Game

This is where this deck really builds its board presence. Keep gaining life, countering threats, and keeping the opponent's board clear. Keep up the politics, make allies and keep the attention away from yourself. This isn't a cruel stax deck, it doesn't use Smokestack , but use Cursed Totem , Stony Silence , etc. to control the flow of the game.

Sphinx's Revelation into Timetwister is your best friend here.

Winning

While this deck does have the fast combo listed above, your goal should be to hold back. Wait until Jace is already on the board and you (hopefully) have Grand Abolisher in play. Or, EOT Flash in Academy Rector to grab Test of Endurance before your turn once you've 50 or more life.
