I would replace Corpse Hauler with Viscera Seer in this deck.

actually, never mind that last comment of mine, I saw the resemblance of Corpse Hauler and Uncle Istvan. Cool deck +1

Fucking RAD! I dig your deck, man. I am going to build this deck and ax my buddies up. +1 for me.

Love it. Uncle Istvan is one of my favorite black cards just for the flavor, and I keep not being able to justify having him in my decks. You seem to have found a workaround!

I actually like this deck. Good work on it. Might actually make a deck like this one myself if you do not mind.

I'd recommend getting some hexproof enchantments in order to keep him safe from targeted kill spells.

the only issues with that is with death pits of rath or gorgon flail, all you need is one point of damage to destroy a creature. it doesn't quite add anything flavor or mechanic wise.
fleshwrither just looks cooler and Puts him onto the battlefield
looks sweet! could probably work it in somewhere, maybe over a corpse hauler or two.
go for it bro.

+1 for everyone's favorite uncle

Awesome deck, nice idea... maybe Virulent Swipe
March 14, 2014 1:36 p.m.
So did you ever think about a Wrong Turn backwoods psycho type deck with Village Cannibals
March 17, 2014 11:06 p.m.
Casey4321 I was just thinking about adding that here to Uncle Istvan's Visit. I found with this deck that I had a problem (on most shuffles) with not enough creatures to get any blockers in play fast enough, Village Cannibals has a cheap mana cost and fits the theme pretty nicely. Maybe even add some more human cards to support Village Cannibals ?

Also, I also had some problems with flyers against this deck (esp. with indestructible enchantments), they often ran a perfect game against me. So... I hate to add any flying creatures (wanting to keep with the slasher-killer theme of the deck), but I wonder what enchantments, etc. might be out there to combat flyers... with indestructible?
Don't get me wrong, love the deck, super-fun +1
March 19, 2014 3:04 p.m.
well, thats what the murders and maybe devour flesh's are for. I guess You can favor some more Devour flesh's in if the indestructibles are really a problem. The core idea as above stated is to force them to block and then they die due to death pits or gorgon flail.
As long as the fliers don't have haste, you should be able to attack and murder the the fliers before they can attack, unless they came out first of course. Sadly I just can't think of any real and flavorful answers to indestructible, but I guess an unkillable robot would stop a murder hobo in their tracks.

Sorry to not get back to you until now. Skirsdag High Priest, Skirsdag Flayer, Victim of Night so on...Very culty.

I dig this! Love some Uncle Istvan nostalgia!
March 26, 2014 4:38 a.m.
might i suggest a Banshee's Blade just for shits and grins

For everyone saying Inquisitor's Flail , keep in mind that you still need to assign lethal damage to a blocking creature in order to deal damage to the next creature in blocking order, even if it's just 1 point of DT damage, and that that damage assignment occurs before the replacement effect from Inquisitor's Flail doubles the damage Uncle Istvan is dealing, which basically makes it useless as a DT / Nemesis Mask doubler. It does however function beautifully with Lifelink.
June 5, 2014 5:18 p.m.
It's already in there mate :/
Thanks mate, I think I mentioned it before but yeah, inquisitors flail is damn near useless I'm finally being able to swing through for lethal, but the point is to murder as many creatures as possible and be vorthos as fuck.

Fleshwrither has no utility unless you have at least one other 4-cost creature to search for
June 19, 2014 12:22 p.m.
looks at the deck title,
Looks at Uncle Istvan,
looks at his CMC of 4,
Rereads the comment
Nah, but Unlcer istvan's creature type is uncle istvan, and he can be blocked AND axe murder the fuck outta shit. That'd be a different type of voltron.
June 20, 2014 4:06 a.m.
Hey, can I axe you a question?
July 8, 2014 10:41 p.m.
Smoldering Butcher and Abattoir Ghoul both have murdery vibes and seem decently synrgetic. You only get 4 istvans; probably doesn't hurt to have a couple extra potential voltrons. I'm also surprised you don't have more things to tutor uncles.
Also please toss a couple of thosr farm implement cards in for ultimate flavor

Love this deck, +1.
September 8, 2014 12:05 p.m.
But Uncle Istvan isn't a vampire. He's a murder hobo. And he already has homicidal seclusion
September 8, 2014 12:09 p.m.
...true, I didn't really think about flavor :(
One thing that may work is No Mercy , since you want to be swinging in with Ivstan. It also fits with his ax murderer personality.
September 9, 2014 6:59 a.m.
+1, VERY impressive. Simply oozes flavor. I can practically see the murderous old hermit biding his time in his cabin in the swamps, just waiting for some poor bastard to wander into his territory and get a faceful of axe.
