"We raised eelhawks to control the squidflies, then waspcrabs to prey on the eelhawks. Now what do we do with all these waspcrabs?"

The original Guild Kits, while being a terrific idea, had a lot of questionable picks, but left out some in-guild cards that would really benefit the kit in question. Not to mention the lack of streamlining - just throwing together a bunch of guild cards doesn't make a synergistic deck, you have to be more selective. So I decided to make my own.

Fortunately, I've already had Simic and Izzet complete in the form of Duel Decks. I'm planning to expand the original idea to include the other eight guilds, forming an environment of ten balanced decks where either could battle another with pretty equal chances to win.

I wanted to capture what it's like to play Simic bioengineering with all that counter shenanigans, and I like to think that I succeeded. Simic deck unites Evolve, Graft, and Proliferate in one big synergistic package. While Graft doesn't work with Evolve as much as I'd like it to (grafting a counter on a 3/3 entering the battlefield won't evolve a 3/4, for example), having counters everywhere already works bonkers with Proliferate and pseudo-proliferate of Renegade Krasis and Cytoplast Root-Kin. Play your creatures in the correct order of Evolution, stack your triggers wisely, and enjoy the insane fun of spreading counters around and growing your creatures to inmeasurable levels!

If it were an official product, I would assign alternate art like Duel Decks do to Altered Ego and Steady Progress. For Ego I'd make something along the lines of Progenitor Mimic or ooze copying like Cytoshape and Miming Slime, while Steady Progress could have creatures growing in vats like Regenesis.

As always, I am more than happy to provide explanations for any card included (or excluded).
