Welcome to Ultimate Nuclear Pitch of Vampiric Doom !

You are looking at a Boros aikido-, goodstuff-, lifegain deck. Its commander, Brion Stoutarm, is a 4/4 legendary giant warrior with 'Lifelink. , , Sacrifice a creature other than Brion Stoutarm: Brion Stoutarm deals damage equal to the sacrificed creature’s power to target player.’.

Brion’s magical throwing arm must rank amongst the most insane (and hilarious) powers of any MTG creature. The ability to hurl ANY creature, regardless of size, made us think of ridiculous anime fights like those one would see in series like Dragonball. It gets better though. Since it is Brion that does damage through this ability, it allows us to gain life by using it. The ability is also insanely good value. Especially when you have cheap/free ways to make copies of powerful creatures or when you combine it with cheap stealing spells. Our playgroup loves this deck because it is not overpowered and it makes people laugh. However, we are always ready to improve it further still. We greatly appreciate feedback to any of our decks, including this one. Before you give any however, please take note of the following:

  1. Having fun at MTG, is more important to us than winning games. We want our opponents to have a fun time playing against us too. That makes it more likely people will want to play against us again. This attitude is reflected in the way in which we build decks. They do not need to be invincible; not even competitive. We are ok with decks containing infinite combos though, as they can produce some hilarious results. So well done if you can pull one off; especially if it is original.
  2. We no longer buy cards, but in cases that we feel a card really adds to our collection, we still trade them. This means that whenever you are suggesting a card we do not own, chances are slim it is going to end up in our deck. Please do not take this personally. Also, please do not let this stop you from making suggestions. Suggestions that do not make it into this deck, will still be mentioned on this page and might be used by others.
  3. Please do not forget to include the card(s) you would remove to make room for your recommended card(s).
  4. Please do not recommend any cards with infect or cards whose sole purpose is to destroy basic lands (non-basic lands are fair game). Our playgroup has banned them.

With that being said, thank you for all your support and if you should decide to use our ideas, have lots of fun with them.

This deck is fun to play because of its different avenues to victory. It has control elements, several ways to create disposable, high-powered tokens, large stompers to overwhelm smaller stuff, ways to recur creatures that we (or others) have lost and a potential for gaining massive amounts of life. Having Brion on the field makes all of this come together, but the deck takes into account the possibility of not being able to use him.

During the early phases we can obtain extra mana through the use of rocks like Arcane Signet, Mana Vault and Sol Ring. We can also cheapen most of what we cast with either Pearl Medallion or Ruby Medallion. In case we are not drawing oodles of land during the early phases, land-fetching options like Gift of Estates, Land Tax and Weathered Wayfarer can help us out. Having Sensei's Divining Top on early also helps really well with filtering out the useful stuff.

Once we have the mana for him, Brion Stoutarm should enter the field. Having him on the battlefield before other creatures, allows us to use him as an outlet for whatever follows. Should an opponent succeed at stealing him, we can also employ back-up plans like Goblin Bombardment or Bloodshot Cyclops. With an outlet on the board, it's time to provide it with fuel. We have two avenues of approach for this; cuff spells like Act of Treason, Harness by Force and Hijack AND summoning our own creatures and use these as fuel.

Creatures that we summon ourselves can be copied on entering the battlefield with cards like Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker and Flameshadow Conjuring. We can also force our missiles (or copies of them) to come back from the graveyard with Adarkar Valkyrie, Feldon of the Third Path, Mimic Vat and Sigil of the New Dawn, so that we can reuse them all over again!

Particularly powerful creatures like War Elemental, Hamletback Goliath, Malignus and Serra Avatar can be thrown to close out games. Stealing most of our opponents' creatures with Mob Rule could also do that, as well as using Aetherflux Reservoir to zap someone off the field or use an infinite combo.

  • Phyrexian Processor; we sometimes change Deathrender out for this card. It is nice and can provide us with big creatures in a pinch. It has also back-fired on us a few times though, as countering its appearance is a great way to relieve us of lots of life, without any benefit to ourselves.
  • Taurean Mauler/Sunscorch Regent; were part of earlier versions of this deck, eventually replaced by cuff-spells.

This deck contains nice synergy/combos in terms of creating/using tokens and counters.
