Tricks of the Trade would be a GREAT addition here. I'd also say to work more with enchantments/creatures for pumping rather than just sorceries and instants. For instance, Wolfir Silverheart , card:Druid's Familiar, Rancor , or add more Increasing Savagery . Curiosity would also be really useful (or Coastal Piracy if that works in the format you're aiming for).

TyWooOneTime My initial ideas with this deck were to make it thick and fast thus the low mana costing instants and sorcerys, though as you spotted I think I was lacking on some higher mana costing cards here. I agree with adding in some Tricks of the Trade , so for starters I'll put in 2, and see how it goes. also, Revenge of the Hunted was a little useless, so I've taken them out, and added Increasing Savagery , and Wolfir Silverheart . I'm not sure about swapping Groundswell with Rancor as i should be using a land each go. Thanks so much for the suggestions though :)

Whether to go standard or not is totally up to you. I know that at my LGS they play primarily Standard for FNM, so it would likely be worth it on those grounds alone for me. But that'll really come down to what sort of play you hope to get out of it. If you're a casual player or your LGS does Modern, keep it this way. Otherwise, it couldn't hurt to spend the $5 to get the four cards to make it Standard. Worst case scenario, you're out $5 and still have the other pieces to play Modern.

woops, just realised Distortion Strike and Flooded Grove aren't in standard, but i dont want to get rid of Distortion Strike so i guess ill just leave it out of standard, unless you can think of anything to replace it with? :)

On a more systematic note, if you're wanting to make ALL your creatures unblockable with two spells (that are both standard legal) you can rock Bower Passage and Levitation . Then your opponent's flyers cannot block your creatures, while yours are all flying... pull that and it's good game. But that's a pretty big change from what you're running now, so that's up to you.
