I'm trying to make U/G a thing in modern as a lot of ppl have. After a lot of research i found Frank Lapore's version of U/g Faeries that abused a lot of swords instead of Bitterblossom and read the article from 2014 that said that the Faerie package could be swapped so here we are. Vivien, Champion of the Wilds may be the ticket because of the flash. Not only that, she lets you find more creatures for 0 mana and can give things Vigilance and Reach even though vs Sword of Feast and Famine you would have to do it pre attach.

here are my reasons for my creature choices:

Vivien, Champion of the Wilds : A new card that I haven't seen that much in modern play. I'd much rather have see a sword early game but she has her moments. Her + ability can allow you to use your Man-land mana on top of swings and can even pick up Dryad Arbor on her -. If you have a creature exiled with her + ability you can only play them at their normal speed and some of my guys have Flash already so that synergy works well.

Ice-Fang Coatl : Flash. Draw. Death touch is easy to get with Snow-Covered lands or dupes in play. Very solid card imo.

Mystic Snake : It has Flash. It counters stuff. It carries a sword. I like it. When you combind Sword of Feast and Famine with Mutavault and Dryad Arbor , holding up 4 mana can be fairly easy at times depending on the MU. Frilled Mystic is Almost the same card. the colorless mana here is bigger than you think because it leaves room for error with utility lands.

Eternal Witness : A green staple. This gal will return your swords or creatures to carry more swords. It also chains with Beast Within and Cryptic command. With Vivien, Champion of the Wilds you can do some EoT shenanigans.

Noble Heirarch: Exalted dork that produces blue.

Birds of Paradise : Flying dork that produces blue. This and Noble also produce white and this can get Engineered Explosives to 3 or higher if you have both in play.

Glen Elendra Archmage : A little higher on curve but it has triple evasion and can save the team from Wrath fx. If you have Vivien in play, she can catch people off guard with 5 mana up. not that hard with dorks but oh so satisfying.

Tireless Tracker : With fetches and Dryad Arbor this guy can win games. draws cards.

Cryptic Command : You can soft lock with Witness or tap opponents team for an alpha strike like fish and faeries do. If you can get up to 7 mana on your opponents turn you can "soft lock" your opponent by countering a spell and bouncing Eternal Witness or tapping their team. the weakness is that it will "fizzle" if the witness is removed from the field b4 resolution, be careful.

Mana Leak : in early stages of the game this can be a hard counter. late game it punishes greedy plays or keeps opponents from setting up combos by foring the tap before they can cast the 2nd piece of their combo.

Remand : The thing to remember about playing remand is that if you do not have a threat to back this up, you could just be spinning your wheels. Early game it will act as a Time Walk by causing a tap out and drawing a card. Late game it may be the card that keeps you alive long enough to push the damage required. When your opponent gets low on cards, you can make it resemble a hard counter by connecting with Sword of Feast and Famine .

Sword of Fire and Ice : One of the key cards in the deck. With U/G having little to no direct dmg, this thing can shut some archetypes out of the game like Infect and can greatly reduce the dmg from other creature based dmg like Goblin Guide .

Sword of Feast and Famine : Allows me to untap my lands to go with the flash for a tempo swing post combat by Filling my board after a tap out.

Sword of War and Peace : This thing can deal a lot of damage early in the game or if you get to contact with it, every swing vs grindy MUs. 1-2 contacts vs burn can also seal the game.

Sword of Sinew and Steel : A new sword. By reading it flat out, with the color protection combo and the abilities, it sounds like it could be a pain for Jund choosing planeswalker ( Liliana of the Veil comes to mind) like decks and maybe Affinity choosing Artifact( Cranial Plating ). Among popular cards this give protection from Lightning Bolt and Fatal Push for the 1 cost removal outside of Path to Exile . It won't get you past Ensnaring Bridge but it could kill a Karn Liberated or Teferi, Hero of Dominaria left unchecked.

Dryad Arbor : Correct me if I'm wrong but with Vivien, Champion of the Wilds you can exile this and still use it as your land for turn. You can not Flash it with her because of the Land ruling but allows you to not wiff and hit your curve more efficiently. EoT fetch will also allow this to carry a sword and swing easily. Use with Sword of Feast and Famine for vigilance or Vivien. Allows resistance to Wrath fx or applies more pressure with Eot fetching.

Mutavault : Not a bad choice overall for combat decks. It is a Colorless unlike Dryad Arbor so it should help vs All Is Dust I may also try Blinkmoth Nexus here to gain evasion even though its smaller.

This is still a proto-type deck I want to spend some time on cause it sounds fun already.
