With the release of Aether Revolt, I believe the Green/Blue (or Simic) Energy deck to be the most powerful iteration of the standard mid-range energy archetype thus far. In my opinion, this deck wins out over a R/G build because Blue gives the deck access to powerful and synergistic disruption, most notably Aether Meltdown to reduce Heart of Kiran to a blocker at best, as well as Unsubstantiate and Baral's Expertise to disrupt or prevent the Jeskai control combo, Felidar Guardian + Saheeli Rai . The deck also combats B/G Delirium or B/G Counters builds effectively by attempting to out-value their boards with energy-efficient (pun intended) creatures and removal. The deck may experience turbulence against the Bant or U/W Spirit deck, due to all of their tempo effects and fliers. Thankfully, Aethersphere Harvester checks their aerial threats with threats of our own, and efficient removal can return our exiled creatures whilst removing theirs.
