This is a rock solid and SUPER consistent turn 4 combo deck that I've been working on for the past 2 years. I play it both in paper and on MTGO.
The deck plays by using spells such Ponder, Brainstorm, and Sensei's Divining Top to dig for your combo, cards like Remand to slow down fair decks by a turn, and then Vendilion Clique and Force of Will to power through counter magic.
The end goal of the combo is to resolve
Aluren
and get both Cavern Harpy and
Parasitic Strix
which infinitely drains your opponent. To accomplish this however you only need
Aluren
and Imperial Recruiter and I have specifically built the deck to have a very high win % with just
Aluren
and
Shardless Agent
There's mainly 1 specific slot in debate in the main Jace, the Mind Sculptor and then actually testing and perfecting sideboard plans against the meta.
About a few card choices:
Remand - A very under rated card in legacy. In a format where people are casting cards that have a cost on cast Natural Order , or cards cast off mana from Lotus Petal, or cards like Cabal Therapy, Snapcaster Mage , Entreat the Angels remand is close to reading "Counter a spell, draw a card". Also, remember that when you cascade into it you can counter your own cascade spell and draw a card. This is part of what makes
Shardless Agent
a relatively consistent wincon with
Aluren
No mainboard
Parasitic Strix
the reason for this is that it's basically the worst card in the deck and after testing using Cavern Harpy
+
Shardless Agent
to find
Living Wish
to get the Strix only costs about 1 or 2 life. So I think that starting the game at 18 is worth not having another bad draw in the deck.
Matchup Analysis (Needs to be re-evaluated after the most recent additions of Jace in the main,
Terminus
in the main, and Wipe Away in the board)
