Win Strategy
The Main goal of the Deck is to survive long enough to get five Mana, cast Hostage Taker and protect it for one turn with Siren Stormtamer, cast the exiled card the following turn and have a Siren's Ruse ready to do so again. Added Champion of Wits and Gonti, Lord of Luxury as potential Blockers which synergize well with Siren's Ruse as well and generate card advantage.
Sideboard
VS. Control
OUT: 3 Harsh Scrutiny, 3 Fatal Push, 2 Essence Scatter, 1 Hostage Taker, 1 Siren's Ruse
IN: 4 Fathom Fleet Captain, 4 Duress, 1 March of the Drowned, 2 Gifted Aetherborn
GOAL: Get more aggressive with Pirates, countering removal with March of the Drowned and try to keep Fathom Fleet Captain on the board with Siren's Ruseto the keep the pressure high.
VS. Aggro
OUT: 1 Torrential Gearhulk, 2 Chart a Course, 2 Lookout's Dispersal
IN: 2 Gifted Aetherborn, 2 Bontu's Last Reckoning, 1 March of the Drowned
GOAL: Get a little more defensive with Gifted Aetherborn and clear the board with Bontu's Last Reckoning if things get out of hand. Two additional March of the Drowned seem better in terms of card advantage than Chart a Course, since being on the defense.
VS. Temur
Not sure on sideboarding here, depends on how removal heavy their deck is. 2 Vraska's Contempt will go in, maybe Bontu's Last Reckoning?
Haven't played the deck yet but am eager to try. I really like the Hostage Taker + Siren's Ruse
"Combo" and expect to surprise opponents at my local FNM. You think it will work?
