U/B Ninjutsu Control Deck Overview
Ninjas do everything, and they do everything better.
- Ninjutsu abilities only require an unblocked attacker to activate, and because they are an ability, are uncounterable.
- Ninjas can bounce, destroy, copy or even reanimate your opponents' creatures, great against decks with lots of them.
- Ninjas can make your opponent discard cards, exile them from their graveyard, or even reanimate them for their own use.
- With Ninjutsu, you get the same effects as an instant or sorcery, at the same cost, but with a 1/1, 2/2, or even 5/4 body to attack with too.
What Can Ninjas Do For You?
Ninjas can do everything you could want, really. Here are a few of the more useful examples.
Mistblade Shinobi - Bounce your opponent's creatures to their hand whenever this gets through.
Ninja of the Deep Hours - Draw a card whenever this gets through, giving you even more ninja.
Sakashima's Student - Copy your opponent's best creature, then send it straight into their face with Ninjutsu. And at the same price as Phantasmal Image, without the drawback.
Throat Slitter
- Destroy your opponent's creatures, making it even easier to get through.
Higure, the Still Wind
- Make your Ninja unblockable, then tutor out even more ninja to your hand.
Ink-Eyes, Servant of Oni - Reanimate your opponent's creatures from their graveyard, while doing 25% lethal damage.
Ninjutsu Enablers
Cheap, unblockable creatures and other creatures to have lots of fun with Ninjutsu.
Tormented Soul
- At a mana cost of B, Tormented Soul is an incredibly cheap unblockable creature that guarantees you get your ninjas through, turn after turn.
Dimir Infiltrator - More costly than Tormented Soul, but also quite useful as a blocker with 3 toughness. The transmute ability can be helpful on occasion to grab a Mana Leak.
Baleful Strix
- Flying gives it evasion, deathtouch deters blockers, and it can draw you additional ninjas.
Vela the Night-Clad - Lets your Ninjas get through even easier as they all gain intimidate.
Tamiyo, the Moon Sage - She can keep up to two blockers tapped at once, making blocking much harder for your opponent.
