The goal of this deck is to take advantage of the interaction between Evoke and Emerge at instant speed. With a Heartless Summoning on the battlefield both your Emerge and Evoke costs are reduced by two. This deck works by evoking an AEthersnipe, Mulldrifter, or Shriekmaw, then using the instant speed from Leyline of Anticipation or the flash on Elder Deep-Fiend to sacrifice the Evoke creature to Distended Mindbender, or Elder Deep-Fiend before you sacrifice it to the Evoke trigger. Then you get the ETB effects of both creatures, for about 3-5 mana. For example, with a Leyline of Anticipation and a Heartless Summoning on the battlefield, you can evoke a Mulldrifter for 1 blue mana, sacrifice it to an Distended Mindbender for 2 black mana, then draw two cards, rip apart your opponents hand, and still have a 4/4. All on turn 3! Also included is the basic disruption package of Inquisition of Kozilek, Thoughtseize, Fatal Push, and Mana Leak. Serum Visions and Opt round out the deck with some card filtering.The addition of 2 The Scarab God give you an alternate plan if you can't draw your pieces, and its reanimation ability synergizes well with your creatures' enter the battlefield effects.
