Sideboard

This is my try at a "Null Maniac" deck. It kinda loses the whole "Maniac" part of that title, but whatever. it was originally a lab maniac deck, so close enough.

how it works:

Null Profusion is an excellent and incredibly fun card if used correctly. the point of this deck is to play one and then cast the entire library. just keep going until you have a Tendrils of Agony in hand and then storm off. It is pretty simple. The hand size of 2 is barely ever a problem, and even if it is going to get in the way of winning, just smack down a Spellbook and get a free draw, too.

One important thing to remember is that you want Null Profusion out as early as possible. Get it out fast with Dark Ritual and keep all the 0-drops you get until then. Put it out first thing on your turn for the lowest cost you possibly can. You need to play cards as soon as it hits the board, or someone can remove it on their turn. Get all the advantage you can while it lasts.

Also, funny sidenote. the rules say that even if someone counters your spell, you draw the card. Good thing to keep in mind.

to the untrained eye, my landbase looks dumb. To the trained eye, my landbase looks useless. to the crazy people who actually try this deck, the landbase starts to look a little bit reasonable.

you may have noted that I only have 9 lands that can tap for mana, and two of them are the same legendary. This is suprisingly effective. given that my average cmc is less than 2, I really dont need a lot of lands. I also have the luxury of Lotus Petals, Bubbling Mucks, Rain of Filth s, and, the star of the show, Dark Rituals. This leads to me basically only having 19 cards I actually have to worry about the cost for, as I have a bunch of 0 cmc cards. As a sidenote, Gitaxian Probe costs 0. if you ever pay the blue for it, you need to rethink your life choices.

If you dont believe me, try it out for yourself.

Currently, my sideboard is a little sparse. as is, my sideboard strat is this:

game 1: use the mainboard. duh.

game 2: they will generally side out all the creature hate, seeing as the deck doesn't run any important creatures mainboard. This leaves you the perfect opportunity to side in Laboratory Maniac and steal the win. All of the creature hate is dead game 1, and everything they just sided in to beat storm is dead game 2.

either way, the win-con is still the same, so if you see an opening, take it.

This is an important note that I have gotten into arguments over. Please make a note of this if you plan to use this deck. Storm players probably know this already, but many players do not. Here it is:

Storm copies are put DIRECTLY to the stack and ARE NOT, I repeat, ARE NOT "played." This means you do NOT draw a card for each storm copy using Null Profusion.

I have had people tell me I was cheating for not drawing 50 cards and decking myself when I cast Tendrils of Agony.

If you ever actually need to convince someone of this, please see 702.39 in the comprehensive rules and note that the wording is "put on the stack," not "played."

Any suggestions you might have to make this faster or more reliable are welcome, just remember to suggest what to replace.

If you like the deck, don't forget to +1 and comment.

If you don't like the deck, feel free to tell me why down in the comments.

Updates Add

I recently remembered about this deck, so i am revisiting it. any comments would be pretty cool. Looking to improve the consistency, maybe through tutors. I just don't know anything about legacy, so I have no idea what direction to take this.
