Overview

Mother Tuvasa wants what all mothers want: for her children (opponents) to play among themselves and, most importantly, play by her rules.

She develops her pillowfort and protection, making sure nobody steps out of line or separates Mom from her glass of wine.

She uses Telepathy to remind Jimmy that he COULD exile Sally's Avacyn if he really wanted to, it's not up to Mom.

She uses counterspells to keep the children from revolting.

She uses removal to take Jimmy's and Sally's toys away if they abuse their right to have them.

She delivers spankings in the form of Karmic Justice.

And, at the end of the day, she only wishes to develop her scrapbook (board-state), have a nice Enchanted Evening and send the children to bed once she's had enough.

Card Draw: Argothian Enchantress, Mesa Enchantress, Satyr Enchanter, Tuvasa the Sunlit, Verduran Enchantress, Eidolon of Blossoms, Setessan Champion, Enchantress's Presence, Sylvan Library, and Rhystic Study. Typical enchantress package with Rhystic Study. This is likely an easy cut from the deck, if you have too much card draw. Sylvan Library is very good for filtering, however.

Pillowfort: Ghostly Prison, Propaganda, and Sphere of Safety. Sphere may be the best card in the deck, need to protect it with...

Protection: Sterling Grove, Greater Auramancy, and Privileged Position protect from targeted removal, while Karmic Justice is a great deterrent. Bear Umbra and Shield of the Oversoul can help if you decide to flip on the voltron switch with Tuvasa or Destiny Spinner's lands.

Removal: The deck is full of this. Highlights are Grasp of Fate, Darksteel Mutation, Imprisoned in the Moon, and Song of the Dryads. Grasp of Fate is self explanatory. As for the others, never underestimate turning someone's commander into a land or insect.

Winning Through Combat (Voltron/Angels): Thasa God of the Sea can help Tuvasa the Sunlit or Destiny Spinner to get through. Shield of the Oversoul and Berserk can also help Tuvasa get over. Otherwise, lean into Luminarch Ascension and Sigil of the Empty Throne which are very viable win conditions. Luminarch comes online very easily with the pillowfort and removal at your disposal. Even better if you get it early.

Winning Through Combo: Enchanted Evening turns on a lot of weird interactions. Yavimaya Enchantress is suddenly massive from turning everyone's permanents into enchantments, and Aura Shards can now shoot-down any permanent. With threshold, casting Cleansing Meditation is enough to win the game, as it wipes everyone's board except your own. Be careful though, Archon of Sun's Grace + Enchanted Evening is a 2 card combo that will permanently keep flooding the stack, if someone fails to kill one of the pieces. This is why Aura Shards is so important, despite the low creature count of the deck. Use the tokens to destroy all of your opponent's permanents, then make as many tokens as you want before using Aura Shards to kill Enchanted Evening. Aura of Silence can also destroy the loop, however you aren't able to destroy any of your opponent's permanents and have to hope the cat tokens survive one more round! Dragonlord Dromoka can help protect your combo when you get all the pieces. NOTE: I have since cut Aura Shards (see changelog) since it was only serving one purpose. Aura of Silence doesn't serve the purpose as well (your opponents keep their permanents) but you still get infinite Pegasus tokens to swing out on your next turn. Better have counter magic!

5/18/19: Swapped out Heliod, God of the Sun and Starfield of Nyx for Counterspell and Arcane Denial. Protecting the board is most important, and part of the benefit of having blue vs. GW enchantress. Heliod could provide Aura Shards or Eidolon of Blossoms triggers but not much else. Starfield is just too risky in a format of creature boardwipes.

6/4/19: Swapped out Detention Sphere for Telepathy. Detention Sphere doesn't compete with the likes of Grasp of Fate, Imprisoned in the Moon, and Song of the Dryads, nor is it as flexible as Cast Out and Quarantine Field. Telepathy was added for fun politics.

12/14/19: Swapped out Overgrowth, Dawn's Reflection, and Creeping Renaissance for Smothering Tithe, Concordant Crossroads, and Dance of the Manse. Mostly just upgrades, though I swapped a ramp spell for Concordant Crossroads. This may be a little outside the "mom" theme, but it's great with the pillowfort. Plus, Tuvasa can come down from the command zone and slam in for loads of damage if you're set up.

2/13/19: Big changes here! You can always count on Theros. Plus I made some other changes as well...

Ajani's Chosen => Archon of Sun's Grace for obvious reasons. Authority of the Consuls => Blind Obedience because it's more on-theme. Sol Ring => Omniscience because Sol Ring isn't that much fun and can often get hit with Stony Silence. Sun Titan => Dryad of the Ilysian Grove not necessarily related but both ramp. Sun Titan is still amazing, but this lowers our curve. Aura Shards => Setessan Champion because Aura Shards was only serving one purpose: wait until you get the combo. I don't have enough creatures to utilize it for value. Yavimaya Enchantress => Destiny Spinner due to strict upgrade. Evolving Wilds => Alchemist's Refuge because we like to play at instant speed. Cast Out => Berserk because Berserk can be a tricky removal spell or also help us one-shot someone at the cost of losing Tuvasa. Not bad. Plea for Guidance => Greater Auramancy because I want to lower the curve and have more protection. Eladamri's Call => Mystical Tutor because the former was only tutoring for Ajani's Chosen (now Archon of Sun's Grace). Mystical Tutor can be used to get Cleansing Meditation or even a different tutor if need be.
