I think that Helm of the Gods is a great way to pump your commander for lethal damage.

I think an intuition line with cards like rethether and replenish would really spike up your damage output.
Have your commander out
1) intuition at the end of someone's turn
2) grab eldrazi conscription (+10 and annihilator 2), spectra ward (protection from all colors), Battle mastery (double strike)
3) cast replenish or rether. Your commander is now a 13/13 with double strike and protection from all colors and you can start killing off problem players.
