Sideboard

This is my first attempt of a SOI-ready version of the Tutelage mill-stereotype (if there ever was one). I used to play it before, both the classic red/blue and also a jeskai-version with nyx-fleece rams when they were around.

This time I have focused on a "Mill with madness" approach aggresively digging through my own library whilst hiding behing wall-like creatures and using my discards to burn or bounce my enemy buying me even more time.

The main wincon is of course Sphinx's Tutelage but a flipped Thing in the Ice   can also rapidly close a game by pure force. Any tips and suggestions are always appreciated. So far the deck as done good (proxy-playing with some friends) but I'll update when the set is actually released.

The Mill Machine

Sphinx's Tutelage: I Draw you mill. Simple as that. One on the field is annoying, two is uncomfortable and anything above is straight up horrifying. A lucky game you can deck your opponents by turn 5-6.

Dudes!

Thing in the Ice  : Solid blocker to stall of early aggro. Flips very easily with all the cheap draw and madness spells. Buys time regardless and can win games alone occasionally.

Forgotten Creation: This guy is basically Chandra -0 on a body which of course is hilarious. With the archives out this is just bananas.

Manic Scribe: Blocks some early attackers with his 3 body and provides some extra mill. With all my discard spells I can easily also fill the graveyard with the types I need for delirium which is nice.

Jace, Vryn's Prodigy  : Jace is of course here to provide cards and works superb with the madness-spells listed below.

Madness!

Fiery Temper : Bolt for 1 or 3, pretty solid. Hits important targets like Reflector mage, Ayli, new Olivia etc.

Just the Wind : Bounce to to buy more time. Cheap regardless if used with madness or not. Very handy.

Draw!

Magmatic Insight: Draws card for the price of a land, usually not a problem. Also gets a land into graveyard for delirum which is a bit harder now with fetches gone.

Tormenting Voice: The best draw spell, For 3 mana you can pair it with any of my madness spells for alot of value.

Pore Over the Pages : Also a really nice draw spell, a bit expensive, but the fact you get 2 mana back allows you to cast this into tormenting voice, bounce, magmatic, or any of my dudes. Solid.

Oath of Jace : Superb in this deck for several reasons, obviously you draw 3 which is nice, then you also have an opportunity to use ur madness spells. Then it is also an enchantment which protects your Tutelage from annoying shizzlemagic like Dromokas command (hence u can sacrfize this instead). Finally even the scry can occur with ur flip-jaces and Chandra going around.

Alhammarret's Archive: Also a bit expensive, but if you manage to spare a turn to put it on the field,it is just insande. Chandra and Forgottens discard-redraw is just insane with archives. If times are troubling, just discard this.

Sideboard Strategies

The sideboard mainly as two directions to go into.

Anti-creatures: more chumpers maniac scribes, cheap burn Fiery Impulse and extra disable/bounce with Send to Sleep / Disperse.

Anti-Control: Play the counter-game with Dispel & Negate. Also using Trail of Evidence to stock up on draw, whilst countering.

Of course you can combine the two, e.g. vs. a collected company deck you'd prop both use some counters, and extra chumpers.

So what ya think? =)
