Sarkhan Unbroken would be a good card draw to get ulamog or atarka plus adding mana

Assracermoney oh good call thanks!

I'm unsure about Honored Hierarch since unless you get it in the first few turns, he will never get renown.

October 6, 2015 9:25 p.m.

Keos027 yeah that's very true. What do you think about switching him for either Dragonmaster Outcast or Retreat to Coralhelm? I'm leaning towards Coralhelm since it combos with Shaman of Forgotten Ways. Thanks for the input!

are you banking on having that one Wooded Foothills? perhaps taking out 3 forests for 3 more would be a good idea

tempest oh lord I didn't notice that thank you.

Retreat to Coralhelm is definitely an interesting choice.

October 7, 2015 9:20 a.m.

Keos027 I mentioned the deck to someone how I could regularly cast Atarka on 4 and Ulamog on 5 with Shaman of Forgotten Ways, and he said "oh, with Retreat to Coralhelm and fetchlands?"

I don't know if 3 is too many copies, but the combo is absurd. Makes me wanna play more fetches, but worried about taking too much life with all the aggro out there.

Maybe try putting a few good body to avoid losing to much life. On another hand, once you manage to get out, it gets quite ugly for them.

Your deck isn't that different from my Temur Dragon deck and it's the only deck that managed to beat my friend's Origin Elf with Shaman of the pack combo which is an aggro deck. Temur - Dawn of the Dragons.

Nissa's Renewal is a great way to get around that life loss from the fetchlands. 7 life! Plus it's 3 more lands you don't have to draw. It does indeed make an alternative play for turn 4 by flipping the Rattleclaw Mystic. 4 lands, tap 2 to flip him, float 3, tap him for another 1 and use the rest of your lands to cast it. And most importantly.... You can still do Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger turn 5.

DarkDeathclaw thanks for the suggestion I'll try it out!

Jimmy_Chinchila I have a very similar deck and went 2-0 VS Atarka Red Wins, 2-0 VS a UB Eldrazi, 2-0 Jeskai and 2-1 VS an Abzan Sacrifice. I was very happy to find your deck because I strongly believe this is a competitive deck. And I hope I'm not wrong because I've been obsessed with building a Temur deck for months.

I feel you need to Mainboard some Removal. Reality Shift, Roast or Wild Slash. I struggled because I don't have removals just like you. Every match I won I was really low on HP.

Sagu Mauler Was way more useful than I thought. I use 2 of these puppies. People don't seem to remember this monster and it was nice to see their surprised faces when it got play on the battlefield.

Not using Beastcaller Savant, instead I have 3 Woodland Wanderer they become a very intimidating defense and added tons of pressure on every game.

I'll fav your deck and hope to see some updates. Good luck!

Wotanmetal thanks for the input! I too have wanted more removal. Played a few Allied decks using lifelink and lifegain so thinking a couple Wild Slash and a Roast main deck would help.

If you play Atarka's command an place a second land down on turn three you can also cast Atarka or Omnath on turn 4 with a rattleclaw you morphed on turn 3

Archstanding oh good call thank you!

It's weird playing a deck where you're pissed if you can't play a 7-drop on turn 4 lol.

Also thinking of replacing a few basic lands with fetches to get those Coralhelm triggers.

what about Conduit of Ruin? it lets you cast Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger on turn five with only Rattleclaw Mystic and Shaman of Forgotten Ways, giving better repeatability, plus it saves you mana on turn 3 and 4 to counter early removal.

October 12, 2015 12:49 p.m.

matthewkwan I hadn't thought of that but is a great idea. Adding now. Thank you!

I agree that you probably need a few more fetches. I'd recommend Flooded Strand, or Polluted Delta, as you already have a fetch to search for both Forest and Cinder Glade and in place of a few others you could possibly run Prairie Stream, or Sunken Hollow, to help. I've played Woodland Wanderer as a 6/6 on turn 3 or 4 pretty consistently with both of those. I almost wanna say to take the black route and maybe splash for Necromantic Summons in side to revive Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger or Dragonlord Atarka. I'd almost cut a Retreat to Coralhelm for another removal too, but that's my thoughts on the matter.

DarkDeathclaw those are some good points I will have to consider, thank you for the input!

Great deck! I am a modern player and I was trying to find a way to get into standard again, but I don't want to go on the Rhinotrain, so this seems like a great deck to play.
I playtested it, and you can actually turn 4 Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger

Turn 1: Land + Obscuring AEther

Turn 2: Land + Rattleclaw Mystic

Turn 3: Pay 2, Flip Rattleclaw Mystic, use the mana to play Retreat to Coralhelm, Tap Rattleclaw Mystic 1 floating, play fetchland, Untap Mystic, Tap it for mana, Fetch the land, untap Mystic and tap for a third floating and play Shaman of Forgotten Ways

Turn 4: Tap Shaman of Forgotten Ways 2 floating, play a Fetchland, Untap Shaman, Tap for 2 floating, Fetch the land, Untap, Tap for 2 more, 6 Floating, tap the remaining 4 land to Cast Ulamog and essentially keep the Mystic up for Stubborn Denial

You can actually cast Kiora aswell on turn 4 together with Ulamog. Use her +1 to untap a land and the Shaman, but then you won't have 1 open for the Counterspell

Trivium013 wow thanks! Yeah the deck is certainly explosive. I will add your method to the description. Let me know how it fares for you if you sleeve it up!

This deck is awesome!

October 14, 2015 7:21 p.m.

DatStormCrow thanks so much! It's definitely fun to drop such big threats so easily. I mean, you don't always get turn 4 Atarka/Ulamog but when you do the look on people's faces is priceless.

Can I see a modern edit of this deck? I think this might be greatly improved by it!

October 15, 2015 5:52 p.m.

Mr.Button you mean an updated version or a version for the Modern format?
