This particular build has been defeated by the "if clause" of Barren Glory. What this means is that the card will test the game state and decide if conditions have been met before you can respond with Renounce. It can win at the start of turn 2 but not in turn 1 with this build. Thank you to SteelSentry for pointing out this out. I will need to find another way to do it.

Runlue made this deck Wiping Your Own Board Never Felt So Good and I wanted to show that you can have a turn 1 win with Barren Glory. Using a variation on the old Hulk Flash deck shell to do it with. the key component is Renounce.

For this to work you need to start the game On The Draw and your opening hand should be what is listed under the category Opening Hand.

Turn 0: Well, Lets call it turn 0 but it really is only the time that happens before your opponent's first turn begins

Put Gemstone Caverns into play exiling Lotus Petal. This could be anything else in the Other category as well it does not matter what card it is as long as you do not disturb the other cards in the opening hand. Remove Simian Spirit Guide for 1 red, tap Gemstone Caverns for 1 blue and cast Flash for Academy Rector, let him die then tutor up and put into play Barren Glory.

Turn 1 begins:
Untap, start upkeep, the Barren Glory trigger goes on the stack, you respond with tapping Gemstone Caverns for 1 white , remove elvish spirit guide for 1 green and cast Renounce sacrificing your Gemstone Caverns and win at upkeep when stack resolves.

Winning before your draw in your Turn 1. Given, it is a pretty Dream Team opening hand but is definitely do-able.
