Recent Success —Jan. 1, 2013

FNM 12/28 Round 1 - Golgari Aggro - He started off quick with turn 2 Dreg Mangler followed by Rancor but was able to stabilize and land a Revelation. After that wrath and mill. Second game he couldnt find a black souce after landing some Strangleroot Geists. Terminus into mill FTW. (2-0)

Round 2 - Mono Green Aggro - First game he beat me with his Predator Ooze because I didn't hit a Terminus. Side in Spheres for the Oozes and had both the second and third games easily.(2-1)

Round 3 - 4c ReAnimator - Awesome match for me. He helped me by milling himself and I ended up winning easily. Second game we hit time quickly so he just gave me the win. (2-0)

Round 4 - Amerca Flash - I don't like this match, but luckily my Revelation saved me after being at 4 life. Side in a bunch of counters and dropped a Jace. (2-0)

Results - 4-0 (1st of 28) - Deck ran well, but if flash keeps dominating my meta changes will have to be made.

GPT Atlantic City 12/29 Finished 4-2 (13th of 52) Will update more later.

Surely Fog Bank would make staying alive a lot easier?

Not really. At 2 mana the optimal play is Farseek and with the aggro meta Pillar of Flame and Searing Spear are running rampant.

It was a pretty fun deck to play, I playtested it against my deck Ramping With Bolas. The card:Archangel's Light was so annoying in the last game I played, your deck gained atleast 50 life through it, But I managed to pull through with 2 cards in my library thanks to Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker . But it was a really good match-up. +1 for the best Fog deck I have seen.

Yeah that deck would require massive side boarding. This sorta is built to withstand the massive aggro meta right now. Thanks for playing! :)

there are awesome draw artifacts in standard right now to help cycle through your deck and plenty of fog spells to boot. try Otherworld Atlas and try to up your count of fog spells because of simply they can have as many creatures as they want but if they cant do damage it doesn't matter . you can try beast within for planeswalkers to stay in two colors if you wanted too

Altas is too slow, so I switched to Forbidden Alchemy . Also, Beast Within hasn't been standard for months.

Psychic Spiral ? take advantage of the huge numbers of cards in your graveyard from forbidden alchemy, though I'm not sure about it's synergy with the rest of the deck, +1 regardless this looks hilarious

Must have play tested this one about 13 times. It was fun see the interaction of snap mage on all the spells choices.

i feel that a one of Increasing Devotion or Entreat the Angels should be in here just as a different type of creature win con. There are so many turns that games go long, and a last second. 5 - 10 human combo after a terminus can seal it quickly. Man a one turn angels late is always nasty. A response or death. Both are great targets for snapcaster since you can snap and get the flashback for only 7 mana instead of 9 on devotion.

maybe take out safe passage?

I have constantly thought about a single entreat just because. It may require testing.

how do you win agains an almost mirror U/W control? it plays no creatures and wins withe milling like you and has a strong graveyard cycle as well

Then I guess it's a 50/50 chance then, huh?

maybe, even though you have a good sideboard against it you are more likely to loose the first round since that deck is more against spells and yours is more against damage. I would consider to take out the Cavern of Souls and put either another Dispel or a Curse of Echoes which is very good against U/W and Bant control

I took out Curse because of cost. I would tap 5 they counter. I like Dispel more.
