"Anyone that doesn't think that Hidetsugu is beautiful will have half their lifespan removed." - Decree of Hidetsugu, spoken by DoctorScarf to Dandaman83 and Uzishul

At a first glance, this deck may look lie a jumbled mess, but do not worry. I shall explain what all of it does and how to play it.

Scroll down to the very bottom to find out how to win on turn 2 with this deck!

Focus of Hidetsugu Deck:

The aim of this deck is very simple: kill your opponents a quickly as possible using your commander to deal double damage. Before any rookies stop and think 'hold on, couldn't you play this deck with a commander that can't be removed as easily?', let me stop you right there. You cannot play this deck without him.The deck does, however, have its flaws. Hidetsugu is incredibly easy to get rid of, and Hidetsugu can only kill your opponents if they have an even life total. To combat this, many burn spells have been incorporated into the deck to make sure that you remain on an odd total and your peers remain even. Rolling Thunder is one of the All-Star cards of the deck. It may not look like much, but it allows you to divide damage to your enemies to ensure that they don't have odd life totals and that you do ('cause, you know, you'll die if you don't!). If Hidetsugu is removed from the field, use your odd creatures and your burn spells to PUNISH your opponents. Cause as much damage, destruction and chaos you can possibly muster. Use Inferno Titan to get a free Lightning Bolt each turn. Use Silent Arbiter to slow the game down to a crawl. Use Curse of Bloodletting to single out the peskiest opponent to ensure they die first. Use Viashino Heretic to TRASH THOSE DREADFUL ARTIFACTS YOUR OPPONENTS CONTROL. BLOOD! DEATH! CHAOS! DESTRUCTION! SCRAP METAAAAAAAAAAL!

(Side Note) Expensive (for me) cards to consider adding/replacing if you have them:

Platinum Angel < Platinum Emperion (Keeping your life total at a standstill is better than risking it go into the negatives)

Basalt Monolith < Grim Monolith (you can play it turn 2 as opposed to turn three)

Mountain < Ancient Tomb (It's commander!)

Chandra, Flamecaller < Chandra, Torch of Defiance (LOOK AT IT)

Red Elemental Blast < Blood Moon (This is a mono-red deck running only a couple of non-basic lands. WHY WOULD YOU NOT WANT IT??)

I worked out you can win on turn 2 with this deck, but you need to have the PERFECT HAND.

In order to maximize strat-viewing pleasure, I highly recommend listening to this while reading to get into the destructive mood.

YOU FOOL! IT'S EVEN BETTER! YOU CAN WIN ON TURN 1! Here's how to do it:

(Card names in brackets means you can have either of those cards and still make the kill)

Hand: Mountain, Mana Crypt, Sol Ring, Treasonous Ogre, (Basilisk Collar or Dark Sphere), (Expedite, Mark of Fury or Need for Speed), (Overblaze, Furnace of Rath or Desperate Gambit). (Desperate Gambit not recommended)

Turn 1: Play your Mountain and your Mana Crypt, then tap the them both to add to your mana pool. Use to cast Sol Ring, then tap it to add to your pool. You now have . Use that mana to cast Treasonous Ogre. Then, use its ability to turn all but 1 of your life points into red mana. You should, at this point, have ( x 13) in your mana pool. Use ( x 5) to cast Heartless Hidetsugu from the command zone. After doing so, you should have ( x 8). Use to cast and equip Basilisk Collar to Heartless Hidetsugu, giving him Deathtouch and Lifelink (Alternatively, use and cast Dark Sphere). after that, you have ( x 5). Use to cast Expedite, Mark of Fury or Need for Speed, giving Heartless Hidetsugu Haste. Use your remaining to cast Overblaze or Furnace of Rath, allowing Heartless Hidetsugu to deal double damage until end of turn (or, if you have Desperate Gambit, pay , flip a coin and hope to GOD the flip is in your favor. If it is, continue to the next step). Lastly, tap our good friend Hidetsugu to deal 40 damage (or more) to your opponent(s), and you remain alive (If you used Dark Sphere, sacrifice it to protect yourself from half the damage). YOU WIN.

However, DON'T GET TOO EXITED. This hand is damn near impossible to get a hold of all at once. here is my math working to show the chances of pulling it.

Mountain: 21/100

Mana Crypt: 1/99

Sol Ring: 1/98

Treasonous Ogre: 1/97

Basilisk Collar or Dark Sphere: 2/96

Expedite, Mark of Fury or Need for Speed: 3/95

Overblaze, Furnace of Rath or Desperate Gambit: 3/94

(21 x 2 x 3 x 3) divided by (100 x 99 x 98 x 97 x 96 x 95 x 94)

= 378 divided by 80678106430000

= 0.0000000004685285968%

So, as you can see, "not a whelk's chance in a supernova."

"A what?" said Arthur sharply again. He had been following the conversation doggedly up to this point, and was keen not to lose the thread now.

"A whelk's chance in a supernova," repeated Ford without losing momentum. "The..."

"What's a whelk got to do with a supernova?" said Arthur.

"It doesn't," said Ford levelly, "stand a chance in one."

He paused to see if the matter was now cleared up. The freshly puzzled looks clambering across Arthur's face told him that it wasn't.

"A supernova," said Ford as quickly and as clearly as he could, "is a star which explodes at almost half the speed of light and burns with the brightness of a billion suns and then collapses as a super-heavy neutron star. It's a star which burns up other stars, got it? Nothing stands a chance in a supernova."

"I see," said Arthur.
