Under Reconstruction

I put myself into an uphill battle with the first iteration of this deck. Starting as a deck used Revel in Riches jank win-con into Sultai superfriends. It isn't meta or as powerful as Esper control, but it brings a different kind of control that I enjoy playing.

Remember that one Disney movie that crossed Treasure Island with steampunk influences and creatures that are as dynamic as Star Wars? That was the 2002 film Treasure Planet. Since Magic is based on the whole idea of planes and Ixalan is very Spanish Conquistador, Aztec and Pirate like it only seemed fitting to name this that.

The idea and goal is to win through the creation of Treasure tokens with 0/0 Construct tokens that get +1/+/1 for each artifact you control from Karn, Scion of Urza 's third ability and Vraska, Relic Seeker 's third ability to make the opponents life total 1.

Karn, Scion of Urza | Tezzeret, Artifice Master | Vraska, Relic Seeker

  • Karn, Scion of Urza's third ability is really the utility that is going to be used here. With the likelihood of a number of artifacts coming from Tezzeret and Vraska should allow you to have a rather large Construct artifact creature token in play.
  • Tezzeret, Artifice Master was overlooked somehow, his first ability really does well with Karn's Constructs, and his second ability should allow me to draw two cards with the number of artifact tokens that are produced in this build.
  • Vraska, Relic Seeker's -3 ability synergies with Karn and Tezzeret. Her -10 ability is our primary win-con.

Last night went pretty well, won two of the three matches I played.

I've been working with this person on this deck they played against. They also know my deck fairly well because I've played them practically every Friday. Ritual of Soot the board even though I had token creatures out to have a clear battlefield to use Vraska, Relic Seeker's Pirate token and bomb.

Pretty sure their deck hated them while we played, normally I'd have a hard time keeping up with it. They scooped both times I got Vraska, Relic Seeker out into the play since they had no answers for her.

This is just a bad match up overall for me. If I can't get early answers to burn it's pretty much a done deal.
