I built this deck to give to a friend as a Christmas present. He has been playing MTG on & off since Ice Age & has recently started playing again after quite a long break. He already owns quite a few cards from Ixalan & Rivials of Ixalan so I decided to focus on cards released after these sets, so Dominaria & onward.

When creating this deck I had several objectives in mind... 1) Constructed/themed much like a Planeswalker deck. 2) Suitable for intermediate players with potential for advanced plays. 3) Something unusual that with lots of little synergies. 4) Can be competitive to play in a casual environment & can possibly have fun with it at an FNM too. 5) Built with a budget, £10-£15 max. (including card sleeves :p)

I am also doing exactly the same for another friend & building them a deck as a Christmas Present. I wanted both decks to be reasonably balanced to play against each other... See here - Enraged Rampage
