So, I love Torbran, Thane of Red Fell. I love him in standard, I love him in brawl, so I figured maybe he could Make Burn Great Again (ok for the first time) in commander. Obviously, this is not an CEDH deck. There are no all powerful game-winning combos....although an Etali, Primal Storm with an Embercleave attached to it should scare just about everyone. This deck is really about just pinging and pinging, 4 here, 6 here. until everyone else is dead.

I have built this deck with my personal preferences in mind. Some cards that are in the deck just because I really really like them. There may be a card that does it a little better, or something that has a slightly cheaper mana cost. To be frank, I don't really care. EDH is all about expressing yourself with your deck, and this Torban deck does that for me. Here are some cards you probably won't see in other decks:

Incinerate - Always get the Ice Age version, it has literally the best flavor text in the game.

Chaos Wand - This is an auto include in just about all my decks because it is cheap and really pisses people off when you grab an essential piece of their game winning combo.

Act of Treason - Also something that can really piss off an opponent, and we are not playing EDH to make friends or anything.

Risk Factor - I love this card, and think it is underrated in general. 4 damage is nice, but the card draw is even better. And you even get to play it twice.

Rekindling Phoenix - I also think flying in general in underrated, and this dude even comes back after a board wipe.

One interesting thing about this deck is that it is only possible in the last few years. Not only is our esteemed Commander from a very recent set, but in fact over 25 of our non-land cards are from sets released in the past 3 years. While we have some old favorites in there like Lightning Bolt, Fireball and Zo-Zu the Punisher, the heart of the deck is made up of newly released cards. We are talking about cards like Light Up the Stage, Shadowspear and Runaway Steam-Kin. Nothing game-breaking here, but I am pretty sure Mono-Red Burn is not possible without the support it has gotten in cards printed for the first time pretty recently.

All that being said, I am very open to suggestions on how to make this deck better. Just don't you dare say to take out my Chaos Wand
