Maybeboard

Creature (2)

Description

Started out as my mono-white Spirit deck Room For One More but I found the spirit tokens were doing most of the work for me so I've decided to focus on tokens.

Card Breakdown-

Creatures:

-- Doomed Traveler - The obvious 1-drop! I wish I could run 8 of them!

-- Suture Priest - Works so much magic in here. Gain 2 life from Midnight Haunting? Gain life when you kill my Doomed Traveler and/or Mausoleum Guard? Gain 3 from Geist-Honored and Bladehold? Gain 6 from Thopter Assembly? Seeeeems good.

-- Elite Inquisitor - Seems a strange one-of but he has worked out well for me. Easy slot to use for sideboard also.

-- Mentor of the Meek - So good in a token deck, especially with Thopter Assembly and Elspeth Tirel. Together with Suture Priest I'm gaining life and drawing cards out the wazoo!

-- Hero of Bladehold - Does she need an explanation? Makes tokens, battle cry, etc, etc.

-- Mausoleum Guard - Remember when I said I'd run 8 Doomed Traveler if I could?

-- Geist-Honored Monk - Another obvious fit for a token deck!

-- Thopter Assembly - So awesome with Suture Priest and Mentor of the Meek on the board. Depending on the situation, I will often keep the Assembly in my hand after it makes it's tokens to protect against board wipe.

Other Spells:

-- Honor of the Pure/Intangible Virtue - What's that? My 1/1 flying spirit is actually a 4/4 with vigilance? Oh...

-- Midnight Haunting - Haunting the opponent's dreams since Sept 2011!

-- Rally the Peasants - Just a nasty surprise. This card is a game-winner.

-- Oblivion Ring - Clear out their threats. A flyer, a shrine, Wurmcoil, etc.

-- White Sun's Zenith - I love cats. I love every kind of cat. I just want to hug all them, but I can't. Can't hug every cat. So anyway, I am a cat lover and I love to run. I'm sorry I'm thinking about cats again. I really love cats. Sorry I'm getting emotional.

-- Elspeth Tirel - Like I needed more life-gain and tokens! Clearing everything out except for my tokens is nice too, but I don't use it much because it kills my boosters. The option is nice though.

Lands:

-- Plains - Not sure I need these? Anyone??? Might switch them out for 13x Pentavus.

-- Glacial Fortress - Activates Moorland Haunt .

-- Clifftop Retreat - Lets me flashback Rally the Peasants for the win.

-- Moorland Haunt - More tokens, more life, more card draw, etc.

Sideboard:

-- Celestial Purge - Definitely would side this in against green and blue decks.

-- Grand Abolisher - NO. THIS IS MY TURN, STOP PLAYING CARDS. DURING MY TURN YOU WILL GO BUY ME A SODA AND NOTHING ELSE.

-- Mirran Crusader - Really this guy is mainboard material in any other deck. Such a good card.

-- Phyrexian Rebirth - Better than Day of Judgment in this deck I think.

-- Revoke Existence - If I can't have artifacts NO ONE CAN.

-- Timely Reinforcements - Sometimes I will play a single Suture Priest out before I play this. 9 life gain plus 3 guys seems good.

-- Witchbane Orb - STOP LOOKING AT ME SWAN.

So, that's that. Opinions???

Suggestions

Updates

Made a sideboard!

Added in Rally the Peasants and a few Clifftop Retreats for flashback. Moved Phyrexian Rebirth to the sideboard for another White Sun's Zenith.

Kinda want another Mentor of the Meek in here, not sure how to fit him though.

I really like it. I also really enjoyed reading the need for each card. Well done for that.

Since you've got the blue mana, you could always run the ever so popular Geist of Saint Traft as maybe a 2 of? It's insane in token decks. Gets a good pump with Honor of the Pure . It's just insane. Often times your token ends up being a 7/7 or 8/8 with Mr. Saint Traft himself being a 4/4.

You might take a look at my UW Tokens deck I call deck:honorable-virtue-please-help. I've got some fun little things in there.

Because of your deck, I might try to add 1 or 2 Mentor of the Meek , I really like that card.

Definitely a +1 for you. Well done sir.

Thanks fella. Geist of Saint Traft is a possible, maybe a one-of though. Reason I haven't really considered him yet is because as it stands now I can't really be screwed by having the wrong sort of mana out. Having a card that I NEED a blue to play might mess up my flow a bit. It's definitely an amazing card though. If I ever get one I'd surely consider adding him in, probably over Elite Inquisitor .

I'll give your deck a look!

I might take out Thopter Assembly for Sun Titan if it were me, for a few reasons. First, he has vigilance. This may not matter to you since you only want Thopter Assembly for it's tokens anyway (and these will be given vigilance by Intangible Virtue . Second, he can bring back important pieces to your deck like Intangible Virtue s, Doomed Traveler s, Mentor of the Meek s, etc.

Also, especially if you put in Sun Titan s, I would take out something (possibly your Elite Inquisitor and a Moorland Haunt ) for two or three Shrine of Loyal Legions . This card is amazing. It comes out turn two, and by the time turn five or six rolls around, you can sac it for a good six or seven tokens. Not only that, but it can also be revived by Sun Titan s, so you can reuse it as many times as you want.

Looking pretty solid right now though.

I like the idea of Sun Titan and Shrine of Loyal Legions combined. Sun Titan continually reviving Doomed Traveler is cool too. Wish I still had my 2 Sun Titan s. I can probably get my hands on a couple though.

I'll keep it in mind if I do! Thanks a lot!

I've been having a lot of Sun Titan ish thoughts recently, as I am trading my friends for two of 'em. These thoughts mostly revolve around Creature based artifact hate and trying to get that put together, but I've been looking at things and thinking to myself, "You know what would make that better? Sun Titan "

Anyway, glad I at least got you thinking.

+1'd by the way

Sun Titan definitely has some pretty sick combos. Another thing that is kinda neat to bring back is Cathedral Membrane , which is really an overlooked defender..,

I think it's real shame Elspeth is in there alone :(I would love to see the two mausoleum go and bring in Elspeth Tirel or more Geist-Honored Monk ...Why? pretty self explanatory and paying 4 mana for that 2/2 is just -.-You want your flying tokens...monk brings them out...and she doesnt even have to die...Elspeth is just so0o0o0 sexy in token deck...and to have a second chance at this babe when she is killed by nasty control :( jackpot!

I could see that change being a good one.

For the record I picked up my 2x Sun Titan and 3x Shrine of Loyal Legions , might be trying them out in here soon

Another card (though I believe it will be non-standard when m13 comes out) that you could replace the Thopter Assembly with might be Pentavus , though you'd need a few card:Cathars' Crusades for the combo to truly work. Now, while it does cost 1 more, you don't need to recast it over and over again to get your flying tokens. This, in effect, allows you to create more flying tokens instead of having to wait an extra turn or two when trying to get out Thopter Assembly. An important side note, though, is that I think that the game rules would make it so that you'd have to take off all but one counter for the pentavus to stay alive (the pentavites are all cast at once, so the pentavus gets the +1/+1 counters after they come into play). The rest of the benifits are pretty clear from there (aka all of the pentavus cost/ability is colorless, you would get 7 or 8 pentavites for 7-8 mana instead of 5 thopters for 6 every two turns, works well with suture priest, etc.).

Spectral Procession gives you one more spirit than Midnight Haunting if you don't mind the sorcery speed

Have you considered dropping the multicolored lands for Emeria, The Sky Ruin to bring back creatures since you are running monowhite

also could you check out my deck The KKK's army of fun

I wonder why you use azorious and boros dual, in my opinion you don't use them at all.

I only see that you use the red to play the Rally The Peasants, which is by far the less useful card you have there. It can kill if you have enought tokens, yes, but it won't help you to build the setup you need to win.

The Moorland Haunt is good, but still not a good reason to have those lands.

The big thopter is just too expensive. And it has no protection, so it will blow up the moment it hits the table.

Mausoleum guard is good, but is weak in comparison with Spectral Procession.

I'ld also cut all CMC to 4, and play 20 lands. 16 plains and 4 Windbrisk Heights.

Hope it helps

yeah, I would replace the midnight hauntings for spectral processions. It is a sorcery versus instant thing but I would assume you would want more tokens in exchange for instant speed. otherwise a sweet deck

This deck is just BEGGING for a Crested Sunmare Crested Sunmare... "What's that you say? Add an indestructible 5/5 White Horse token because I gained life this turn? Well if you insist..."
