This is one of my favorite commander decks, I've had it since Athreos came out, and just been modifying it over time. I love subtle decks, and subjecting my opponent's to impossible choices :P

This deck doesn't do any whooping damage, instead it whittles away at your opponents slowly and in small numbers (for the most part). This way you rarely become an immidiate threat (except for a few cards in the deck).

The lower life total one of your opponents get, the better Athreos, God of Passageability works. At first, paying 3 life to get rid of reanimators like Doomed Necromancer and Apprentice Necromancer seems like an easy call. People rarely do this for your "useless" cards like Blood Artist, Blood Seeker and Suture Priest, which is great as they actually do have a big impact in the long run :D

To make sure that it really gets tough choosing if your creatures should die or go to your hand, the deck run plenty of reanimation, so that eventually your opponents will just give up on taking damage to send them to the graveyard. I mean, what's the point when they just keep coming back anyway, right? ;D

The few real "bombs" in the deck would probably be Divinity of Pride and Sheoldred, Whispering One. These cards will get you some attention.

Debtors' Knell and Butcher of Malakir tends to do that as well...

Then there's the planeswalkers, they always draw attention for some reason.. ;)Kaya, Ghost Assassin Sorin, Grim Nemesis and Ob Nixilis of the Black Oath are there for the damage dealing, while Elspeth Tirel and Ajani Steadfast are there for lifegain mainly.

The deck does a fairly good job spawning token's as well. Elspeth, Sun's Champion, Spirit Bonds, Field of Souls, Teysa, Envoy of Ghosts and Hallowed Spiritkeeper are all there to hail Athreos :)

For card draw I use Bloodgift Demon, Disciple of Bolas, Indulgent Tormentor, Mentor of the Meek, Harvester of Souls,Greed, Phyrexian Arena and Well of Lost Dreams. I guess Decree of Pain is worth to mention as well :P

Since the deck whittles people down, you need to stop opponents lifegain, enter: Erebos, God of the Dead, which also features more card draw. I love card draw :P

then there's control and tempo. Norn's Annex, Ghostly Prison and Isolation Cell can slow things down.To make as much use of Athreos ability as possible, a lot of the removal is creature based. Royal Assassin and Intrepid Hero have that nice single target kill ability, which is great to threaten potential attackers with.

Then there's Sunblast Angel and Archfiend of Depravity that are good at dealing with masses.Reliquary Monk and High Priest of Penance can deal with other stuff :)

Butcher of Malakir, Decree of Pain, Killing Wave and Austere Command also deal with masses. Killing Wave is especially fun to see in this deck because you won't pay for any creatures most of the time, while the opponents will, and then they are forced to take some more damage for YOUR creatures unless they want to see them reappear on the bord again :P

I could write much more about this deck,a s I've played it for a long time and I really like it, but let's hear what you think of it? Theer might be stuff that could do well in here that I've never heard off!
