Build in progress.

With the latest Hour of Devastation releases I figured I would finally try to put together a Cat Box deck. As we all know, cats love boxes of any kind and will set in them, cleverly concealed and unknown to bystanders, and then, when they are close enough... POUNCE! That's the effect I'm going for here. This has a lot of token generation here, and I'm trying to put up a few barriers and a bunch of removal. I won't be able to see how this runs for several more weeks, obviously, but please look through it and offer up any insight. I greatly appreciate all feedback you all can provide.

I really wanted to see how to make a Bant Cats deck work. I thought about it and said to myself "Challenge accepted!" and then got started. Angus Mackenzie has picked a new career, guys.

Made Angus Mackenzie the new commander because the cats needed a cat herder. Things were just getting way too wild.

Wouldnt Naya make more sense as Cat colours instead of Bant. With Naya you can run cards like Nacatl Hunt-Pride and Wild Nacatl as well as every Ajani there is.

Also I would consider replacing Primal Vigor with Parallel Lives as you dont have too many +1+1 counter generators other than a couple Ajani abilities and primal vigor can help your opponents a ton.

I do realize Naya gives more options, but I want to see what kind of a deck I can make in Bant. It's a challenge I wanted to take on and I like thinking outside the box. Thanks for the advice on Primal Vigor!

Panharmonicon and Conjurer's Closet as some thoughts for getting a bit more value out of the few ETB cards you have, Not the greatest unless you find more ETB cats, but hey an idea :P

Although he doesn't look like anything special, Sacred Cat holds a lot of value in a 1-drop. The one-mana embalm means it often gets right back up after it dies. Since you lack any 1-drop creatures, I suggest including him.

Watchers of the Dead is a great card for on-theme graveyard hate. It might not get rid of everything you wanted, but it hits all opponents, so it isn't that bad.

Healer of the Pride is like a Soul Sister, except she's a Cat, heals for 2 life, and only triggers for your creatures. Depending on how often you "token out" she might be worth considering.

Oreskos Explorer should definitely be included in this multicolor deck, especially since you're running tri-colors and can fetch nonbasic lands with the Plains subtype.

Possibly Felidar Sovereign for the cheese win?

Happy brewing!
