Maybeboard


This is the rough draft of a deck I want to build around the new commander Titania. This is the list I want to test, to play around with some synergies. I know changes will have to be made to optimize it, but this is where I plan to start when I actually pick up a couple of the fairly pricey cards in the list.

This deck features only 30 non-land cards (including the commander). The better to take advantage of Titania's ability to create 5/3 elements every time a land you control goes to the graveyard. This list is running 29 lands that sacrifice either themselves, or another land, to gain some effect that I think could be worth it on it's own. It also includes 9 non-land cards that let me sacrifice or destroy my own lands to get elementals.

The primary plan then is to play Titania, and then play and blow up lands to build an army and swing. There are some ways for to get lands back (including Titania herself when she's cast).

I also have a few other threats that can synergize with Titania, or serve as back up win conditions if shes tucked, or taken care of in some other way.

These are Avenger of Zenidkar, Rampaging Baloths, Nissa, Worldwaker, and Jorael, Empress of beasts.

A few things this deck might add going forward are:

-Land animation seems potentially strong, but risky. Titania would mean I get elementals if someone kills my animated lands, but if shes gotten rid of at instant speed, a wrath becomes an Armageddon as well, and just for me.

For the time being I'm going to test both Nissa, Worldwaker, and Jorael, Empress of beasts, but I don't want to go deeper on this until I have more experience.

-Ways to protect Titania seem needed, but I'm not sure what to cut for them. Right now I have Sylvan Safekeeper, which doubles as a sac outlet for lands, but some of the hexproof/shroud equipment should probably find it's way in the deck.

-Overrun affects might be strong, but right now all I'm using is Baru, Fist of Krosa for that. Like the above I'm not sure what to cut to make room for more yet, hopefully testing will tell me if these are needed, and what to cut to make room if so.
