Working using the Time Reversal , Psychosis Crawler combo along with some draw power and new toys from M12.
Basically a mono-blue control scheme.
Updated:
Added white...because....well because I had extra duel lands, and I don't have extra phyrexian metamorphs yet...
Got a 2nd Jace MA, and phyrexian metamorphs THANK YOU Balthasar and quartic
Going back to a more mono blue...and I have to say that the phyrexian metamorphs make this deck much more versatile in playtesting. Hell yeah.
Yeah. That could be funny.
Actually the journal may make jace's archivist a lot more fun than I think it already will be....hmm.
This Deck looks MADNESS +1 bro. Have you thought of splashing some red for cards like Molten Psyche . Hey can you check out my new deck? Ive tackle many people planeswalker deck with something crazy. I give you, Walkers of Madness. hope ya like it.
I try to avoid playing red....
but the Molten Psyche is a good card...too bad it is red.
I have card:Jace's Archivists to fill that void though..and I get a body on the table to boot!
Yeah. I had it in my original build, but it seemed to take away from the draw power spots, and removing it allowed for extra space for Phyrexian Metamorph s. Which seem fantastic here.
I may move it back sideboard, as I do like the disruption it causes...
And who knows, maybe mill will become viable rather than comical.
(pops self in head) I never thought if Time Reversal with Psychosis Crawler . I saw Psychosis Crawler and started trying to make some weird combo with Traumatize and Praetor's Council. Then I saw the mana costs and lamented lol. Awesome deck!
+1 !
I wanted to use Praetor's council too. I actually had a deck posted on T/O for a bit using that, but I just could not mix it correctly so I abandoned the idea.
No. It works.
Where did my rule advisor get to?
..."State-based actions are not performed during the resolution of a spell or ability"
Not my quote.
Psychosis Crawler would never have zero toughness during the resolution of Time Reversal .
There is no one rule to really site, but state-based actions are checked when a player would receive priority, and players receive priority after a spell resolves. State-based actions are not checked during a spell's resolution, and no player receives priority during a spell's resolution.
Yes.
I actually just traded my sphinx to Mafteechr actually so I'm having to stick with the Frost Titans.
It would certainly have synergy though, AND probably make my deck better.
Something for me to tuck away in case I'm able to acquire more and swap them out.
I like the deck. has some nice synergy.
only thing i'd speculate about is how necessary the Venser/Oring/Sundial combo is in this deck. Sure it's awesome, but it's three pieces that you may not always get out, and Venser isn't really very good for anything else you have here (obviously apart from his -8, which might be a bitch to get to).
I've only been playing since the start of this year, but to me that combo doesn't seem to fit in too well.
maybe free up those slots for something else your Contagion Clasp could prolif?
MAYBE you could run Thought Gorger as a no mess finisher. people would be scared to kill it in this deck (although you would have to play Psychosis Crawler a few turns after, somehow
The thought gorger is an interesting idea...
I should note that I mainly plan on using this deck in multiplayer games (where my playgroup treats me as an archenemy) so I can evenly deal damage to everyone quickly.
I threw in the Venser because the combo is fun more than anything. I would agree I could tighten the deck up but in playtesting I had less fun without it than with it in!
It's all about the fun factor!
oh believe me, i know that :D
some of my decks, especially my first one: Unfair UBr - Forever Discarding is really only for multi-player shenanigans :3
yo man, you nee Consecrated Sphinx in this deck! if you hav him on the field along with 2 psychosis crawlers and you use Time Reversal , that equals game right there!
lol need. not nee :D
I am always accepting donations!
Using Sundial of the Infinite without Glimmerpoint Stag or Mimic Vat ?? You're loosing the point, those 2 cards work wonders with Sundial. Additinally, if you don't care too much for 7 cmc card, i'd suggest Spine of Ish Sah , excellent card to use with Venser.
Consecrated Sphinx is way better than Frost Titan in this deck. If its out when you cast Time Reversal with Psychosis Crawler they take 21 damage :)
Yeah. You are surely right, but before I made this deck, I traded my Consecrated Sphinx to mafteechr and I just need to trade for more, or acquire more and until then the titan is the dude, in all his blue muscle glory.
Still. That combo is badass, but even without it I can do some serious hurt with drawing, that card just helps take it over the top even more.
First of all I'd like to point out that I think it's a great idea for a deck. I wish I was this creative :).However, I do have 2 questions. I was wondering why you add the 2 Frost Titans in this deck idea, when you even pointed out yourself that the Consecrated Sphinx is a lot bettter synergy wise. I don't think it should just be about what cards you do or don't own, but especially in this kind of deck, about what would work best. Same goes for splashing white because you don't have the right cards, yet.Furthermore I was wondering if you had playtested it yet. How does the fact work for you that the Psychosis Crawler is CMC 5. In other words, does the deck last long enough to not be behind on your opponent on the 5th turn?
Anyway, +1 for a great idea!
Hmm. I can't really answer that! haha.
I guess I'm just a realist. I use this website to make my decks, and keep an electronic copy of a build I like from the cards I own.
I tend to tweak my decks on this site as I update/play/get angry with/get happy with certain cards. I suppose it seems it would make everyone much happier if I just updated to the consecrated sphinxs and so I will do it.
But just know, that it will infinitely confuse me when I look at it (especially if I'm baked) and trying to figure out why I added in a card I currently don't have.
I have made decks on here that I don't own but I usually parenthetically notate the title in a way, so I can remember that it is a concept or mock draft version of a deck I am trying to acquire.
I concede the point about how in general it isn't about what cards people do or do not, have...yet for me I use this site as a tool for myself more than anything. If I'm not creating decks and tweaking my decks, than I am usually having fun trying to helps people and make jokes at the same time.
Lastly: as far as the turn 5 cmc for the psychosis crawler...well...that is a problem, but that is also why the primary play style I am using this deck for is FFA games, where I can wreck everyone at once and profit from the FUN and also the sourpuss faces on all of my friends.I think the deck is still viable heads-up but it may need some small tweaks to make it less combo heavy and more control based to compete.
Thanks for the thoughtful comment Kuyira.
Use archivist to make them discard then end the turn? If that is possible it is hilarious.
Hmm. I don't think that works, because I think if you put the sundial on the stack, the archivist's ability still has to resolve completely before the sundial activates off of the stack.
I do agree that it would be hilarious.
I'm Glad not to see card:Jace's Erasure Although it does add a win situation. The key it the Psychosis Crawler with the Consecrated Sphinx very awesome combo man and defiantly a +1
Maybe playing a Elixir of Immortality wouldn't hurt, just in case mill becomes a thing. But if it does its good to be safe than sorry. And that helps cycle the Archivist or cards you hit using his ability. Just a thought.
Time reversal already recycles the graveyard to the library, and I want to be playing that card in a lot of games. Though I find the archivist more consistent for draw power than the time reversal.
Argh! I'm out of deck cycles?!
I changed up this deck again to tweak for more draw and consistency. Any thoughts anyone?
I love the changes! Tumble Magnet is one of my all time favorites and Contagion Clasp is essential for refueling the magnets as well as great one time spot removals. I like the Frost Titan idea, but I have no idea how you would make room. Once again, I loved the Psychosis Crawler idea!
I needed access to sideboard removal against quick creature decks. So along with counterspells i have SBd oblivion rings and day of judgment.
i like this. gonna definitely try it out. wanted to get rid of my infect deck. it's weird that i might be running 2 blue decks.
@operationremie. Cool. I just started with this, and have not yet played it against anyone. Only playtesting. Let me know how you do, and what you think are strengths and weakness as you play against different decks. I will do the same as I play it.
I have a G/U version of something like this, and what I like to do is combine Quicksilver Amulet (since it's been reprinted) with Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur . It also works pretty well with Consecrated Sphinx and any other creature, because the Amulet gets around counterspells and you can put a creature into play at the end of your opponents' turns. This combo may not be something you want to do, but it's a thought. With the right cards, this can deal insane amounts of damage.
ive been working on a psychosis deck as well. however mine is built for legacy. anyhow, i use Augury Owl plus card:Explorer's Scope for early land ramp and the explorer's scopes can be sacrificed for Shape Anew which can get a psychosis crawler or other good artifacts in the deck.
I do like the zenith cards, but I can't imagine myself losing because I decked myself. Unless I was playing someone who was playing mill which would be funny...
Ever consider Mind Unbound ? It would synch well with the card:Venser's Journal, Contagion Clasp , and the Psychosis Crawler causing some serious pain to your opponents.
Mind Unbound seems solid but slow, and I just can't spare a spot in the deck for a 6 cmc card...I need to have my combo starting on turn 5 or 6 to have a chance, especially heads-up!
@zolon. I can look after I get off work, when I can think about it harder.
haha finally Time Reversal has something it can actually do
You mean, it is: to legit. to legit to quit?
with the crawler i like See Beyond cause you draw two for 1U and you can get rid of two cards you don't need and shuffle them back in. just a suggestion.
i didnt think about doing blue green looks pretty solid but if u can help me out that would be amazing http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/burning-archivist-completed/
